mate the A2 medal has been run and won. Check my earlier post above from this morning.

What is your problem with Grange Tedbullpit?
Must be jealous of all their success!
Yes Willo. I suffer tall poppy syndrome. I have no problem with Grange at all. They've done extremely well in the past decade to win the half a dozen or so flags that they've won.
Medal Winners at the ATCA Count held last night: - A1 - Ashmead (Pulteney) A2 - Drew (PAOC) & Vaughan (Hope Valley) A3 - Gabb (Reynella)
what was the end result, was it a close finish to the count???
I think southam from rechabites abit unlucky with the year he had..over 30wks and 400+ runs
Is the standard in A3 any good ? Gabb was good in the SCA years ago but hadnt done anything the previous 5 years. Riley the same, they always relied on Hoppy who is a great cricketer and bloke as well.
A3 was a fair quality comp but the bottom half qtr of the table a little shabby. Some of the A3 cricket I saw was better than some of the A2 cricket in my opinion. This has also been backed up talking to a few people that have seen both and even played in both.
So the winners were A1 - Grange A2 - Goodwood by 20 odd over Woodville South A3 - Brighton by 100 over Port Districts B1 - Hecotorville by 70 B2 - ? Heard that AHOS needed 10 runs Reynella needed 1 wicket B3 - Pulteney by 100 over AHOS C1 - Gaza won on the 1st Day C2 - Woodville Rech C3 - AHOS
Unsure on One Dayers as I didn't see Sunday Mail and all Minor Premiers took out the Junior Grand Finals as all both days of Grand Final were Heated out.

Unley lost 3 minor round games in 2 seasons in A3 and back in A2 this season lost 6 games for the season. A2 is much stronger than A3, granted top A3 players are as good as good A2 players but overall team depth is much stronger in A2. Batsmen are more patient and teams bat deeper, bowlers are also more patient and teams have more options. Same as amateur footy with divs, the higher the div the more acomplished players each side have.

I think that you will find that having a new challenge probably pushed these guys a bit more and they had to apply themselves unlike in SCA when they went through the motions knowing that they would be playing finals. Not disrespting anybody in SCA as I have the utmost respect for it having played many years for the association team. In the SCA you could drop a few games and still be playing finals, different ball game for these guys now in ATCA.
the woodville south v goodwood game was certainly a fair result, the cats dropped their best bowler from the week before 15 overs 1 for 16 for an bloke on one leg who in a grand final hobbled in and bowled one over for 22... j kubisz finally showing a bit of potential taking 5 on the first day

LOA ROCs 7/193 (Linhart 103 n.o) d Pulteney 192
Linhart 799 runs @ 133. Obscenely too good for LOA

Not to mention ROC's have Hines and Trimboli who go alright as well.
Tom Martin for Pultney also made about 900 runs last year IIRC

ROC's actually applied to put in a side in the A grade competition two day comp this season but the application was denied by the ATCA as they wanted ROCS to field two teams in the two day competition.
Have heard that the ATCA General Manager hinted he was resigning from his post at the ATCA presentation dinner last week.

Trimboli has been a class act in LOA for a number of years now. Hines goes ok but not in the same league as the other two imo.
LOA seems to be getting stronger and stronger each year.

Agree with you but Hines has just had a very big season.
