Re: Daily Golf - Where you are playing and how you go
Tough day on the course for the medal today...
Windy as anything and pin placements that would make a single figure handicapper cry...
Was playing pretty well even though I dunked one in the lake on the par 3 8th.
By the 15th tee was back on track with the handicap and hitting them really well. Put my drive left on the 15th, chipped out and a punched 7 iron that looked have finished just to the left of the green, walked up and just couldn't find the little bastard in the rough... Cracked the shits and couldn't be arsed walking back to play a second, so disqualified myself....
Was the best I had hit it since getting back into playing regularly, and was happy considering the conditions...
How good is golf...?

Cleaned up...as much as possible most of my first set of clubs...Proline Impreza. About 20yrs old. I change d the geips on them about 15yrs ago....i still use the sandW from that set....not that it helps on hard sand bunkers.
Did have a hit at Range with my 7 and 8 irons earlier in the week and it wasnt too bad.
Hopefully they perform on the battlefield....

Re: Daily Golf - Where you are playing and how you go
Well after a shocking nights sleep...the weather was superb....unfortunately it meant one less option for an excuse...
So I was already handicapped to begin with....
Started off ok. Somehow lost a ball on the 4th which we all saw land in the trees....so nfi where it ended....someone elses bag we assume...
The 3wood was really good all day...surprisingly...as it hadnt been that reliable of late.
But the putter let me down. Had 2 birdie putts in a row and both chances were the result of a solid drive and a 65-70m wedge in...both birdie putts I didnt feel were horrible putts.... they just got to the hole....and kept on going and going and going....ffs...how to turn birdies to bogeys...ffs

Re: Daily Golf - Where you are playing and how you go
Not much time to warm up...probably not a bad thing.
1st tee shot...beautiful 3w again.
The new 3rd par 3....hit a beautiful 7i..just left of the flag and then it started rolling....rolling back towards the hole...hang on a minute....
Easy birdie tap inn....
The 3w maintained its consistency.
Got to the 9th where it dog legs around to the right...not the best for what i generally hit...and fairway bunkers perfectly located on the right.
I pulled out the driver....unnecessary...but I thought the 3w is treating me good, lets test the driver.
Hit it nicely....gun barrel straight into the bunkers on the right.
10th tee...Driver again....absolutely creamed it....dunno how really...
Back 9 was good. Got to 18th. 3wood off tee landed right on edge of bunker. Not the best place for stance. Hybrid went left as expected but drifted furthee than i expected and was on the 16th fairway but only 40odd metres from green. Had a small gallery watching the chip over (thankgod i didnt blade it) nice 8ft par putt to finish off the day!!!
...3wood is coming to bed tonight

Re: Daily Golf - Where you are playing and how you go
A side on view of my ball on the 3rd sunday.
Landed a couple metres to the left, a foot behind flag and slowly moved towards the flag... from about 140mish it looked a tad closer than that....easy birdie...

Re: Daily Golf - Where you are playing and how you go
Played a slow front 9.
Had 41 off the stick.
I teed off at the same time as a group of 5 and as I was entering the carpark they were approaching the 18th....
Not sure if the group in front were in the twilight comp...but one had a horror drive on the 4th and went 50m to get his ball and have another hit....lol
