Think you do pretty well out of St micks Turbo, being one of the blokes that could have played for you or gone to my home club, its hard to leave the st micks boys, but unless you play your juniors at SMOSH I didnt feel completely apart of the club, yes I only played 18's there, but you didnt know everyone like ya do at your home club and little things like that!

I reckon 80% of the blokes who were in my year at saint micks (2006) are at smosh now
only guys you dont have would be me, gein, ty duerden, sam hanniford, thats about all I can think of
But you got Foulis, Cibich, White, Edwards, pantelis, Decorso plus plenty of others that are good players.

Other sides like the CBC's and PAC's would have probs about the same percentage i would think??

Unfortunately for us Fisty, your year was the exception to the rule! And msot of that was down to the hard work OF Chook Foulis, and the fact that they are such a close knit group of lads.

For instance, My year (2004) has four players at the club (from around thirty year twelve footballers), the year above me has none (03)(!!), THE year below (05) has 4 or 5 (but none playing A grade) and as you mentioned 06 was a great year. But if you go to 07, again, Only one or two players.

02 was also a very good year though Turbo with the core of your A grade coming from that year!

You nearly have to fork out coin to be successful these days. With my club and yes its an old scholars we have to fight with clubs like Henley, Port Districts, North Haven, Flinders Park, Lockleys, Seaton and Portland. We cant compete with some of those clubs we just try and make it an environment where the kids from school want to come and play. Wouldnt mind seeing all these ex st micks lads come back would make a powerhouse side. Shoc have shown how to do it. And well done to them

cant see lockleys forking out big dollars, and portland are close to the biggest tight arses in the amatuer league, jarman would be getting more money than the portland coach and all our players put together, and dont get me wrong i think darren jarman is worth every cent, at times i wish my club would do similar to what CBC have done and get a high profile coach.

Not likely picca would you like me to pm you the payment i recieved for being the playing coach of the portland a grade, it was farcical.

Whenever people talk about how much such and such is getting it always gets blown out of proportion.

You probably have more chance of finding out who built the Pyramids than what the great man is getting.

I just get a lil defensive when people insinuate $ is his motivation.

CBC struggle to get school kids out playing. 1 from last years first 18 came out
The school kids dont have a great experience playing school footy at CBC and the pride and passion isnt installed early into them. Port Augusta is still a very strong link for us. We had a few adelaide uni boys filter through which has been great!

3 Seaton players maybe looking to the South East League apparently for $$$$.
I'd say they'll wait & see who the new coach is first before they make up their mind.

Got some very good information regarding the South East teams (KNTFL,Western Border) and the amounts they are handing out. Must say if I was good enough i'd seriously look at it and there is no way in heck i'd have a go at anyone going. Sunraysia F.L have been snooping around too with some figures equally impressive....

Will Portland be as strong in 2011 as it was in 2010?
The latest player leaving with the deal done is Josh Moody to Hamley Bridge.
Travis Natt is one player Hamley Bridge will give the DCNY apparently, freeing up the coin needed to sign Josh.

You obviously know more than me regarding the deal being done. I heard they were chasing him, and the offer was extremely good (for him). We wouldnt or couldnt get anywhere near those kind of dollars, thats not what the club has been about the last few years anyway. Good luck to him, Josh is a great lad.
