Reckon he goes alright, surely another season like the one he's just had and the Roos will offer him a new deal? (provided the off-field stuff has calmed down)

If his head’s in the right space he could tear the comp apart. I’m told by someone who’d know that he absolutely loves Clarko. I’m proud of the club for the way they stuck by him, showed tough love & didn’t worry about the outside noise. North have learnt a bit the last 18 months.

How does f*ck off sound?

North Melbourne assistance package is as follows. Clubs have been briefed.
- End of first round pick this year
- Two end of first round picks in 2024 (can be reviewed next year)
- Two extra rookie list spots for 2024.
- No extra access to Ryley Sanders beyond standard NGA rules.
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

If you want to go far, go together.

This means the Roos will hold four first-round picks this year (after McKay compo) and three next year after taking two last year. Nine first-round picks over a three-year period

And the 2024 picks are allowed to be traded this year, so they can avoid the so called 'review' on these next year.

Based on what they've given North, you guys should get 12 first round picks for each of the next 3 years.

Chris Scott referred to this as "blatant manipulation". Bravo.

2015 - 13 wins 9 losses finished 8th and beat Richmond and Sydney before losing to West Coast in the prelim.
Traded in Jed Anderson - drafted Ben McKay ( pick 21 ), Ryan Clarke, Core Wagner, Declan Mountford

2016 - 12 wins 10 losses finished 8th lost the elimination final to Adelaide
Traded out Ryan Bastinac, traded in Paul Ahern, Nathan Hrovat and Marley Williams - drafted Jy Simpkin, Declan Watson, Josh Williams, Nick Larkey*

2017 - 6 wins 16 losses finished 15th
Took Aaron Mullett as a free agent, drafted Davies-Uniacke*, Will Walker, Kyron Hayden, Tristan Xerri, Billy Hartung

2018 - 12 wins 10 losses finished 9th
Traded in Polec and Pittard, Dom Tyson and Aaron Hall, drafted Tarryn Thomas, Curtis Taylor, Bailey Scott, Joel Crocker (both Father-Son).

2019 - 10 wins 12 losses finished 12th
Took Lachie Hosie in the mid season draft, Josh Walker as a free agent, traded in Aiden Bonar, drafted Charlie Comben, Jack Mahoney, Flynn Perez,

Brad Scott quit in round 10, Rhyce Shaw took over as care taker then after an exhaustive search was appointed senior coach.

It's this period on ineptitude that resulted in the following :

3 wins in 2020
4 wins in 2021
2 wins in 2022
3 wins in 2023

In short, their recruiting and trading through this 5 year period has them in the position they are in today. Why they are being rewarded with additional assistance?

Why did Melbourne (3 times), Collingwood, Freo, St Kilda (twice), Hawthorn (twice), West Coast, Bulldogs (twice), Carlton (3 times), Richmond, Gold Coast all receive top 3 picks? Every one of these picks was in front of all other clubs picks, our picks will end up mid 20's.

I dont agree with priority picks, but I don't see what the fuss is if you look at history

i think the old rule was something along the lines of less than 5 wins over 2 seasons you got a pick BEFORE the 1st pick.
Then it changed to having to apply to the AFL for one and they normally fall at the end of the first round (around 20). Last time i think Carlton had one they had to trade it and somehow it was involved in getting McGovern and the pick went to Adelaide for McAdam or something like that.

Chris Scott was happy with the system that landed pick 7 to his premiership team last season for taking a players wage off of another club.
