Re: Eastern Eyre Footy
Not for the first time we have viewed things differently Rama but check the Mallala players surname again.
Ryan Mont is working at the 'Duke', his partner is teaching at Cowell AS and he looked very comfortable a few Friday nights ago down the Commercial in a round with several Cowell players.
Was explained previously with Rhys Marsh that the Boston player going to Ports was a B & F, no name was given. Rhys Marsh was suggested then refuted, Sunny Singh has since been mentioned as possibly the player in question but no confirmation or denial has been forthcoming.

Re: Eastern Eyre Footy
When I spoke to the 2IC a few weeks ago he said all teams would have B grades although Cleve said they would struggle, the other four had no problems. He also said that there would be five senior colts teams this year, this will make it easier for B grades with the senior colts playing at the same venue.

Re: Eastern Eyre Footy
Not sure, Rama would know more, but I think he copped a fairly serious injury towards towards the end of last season.
Matt Lienert made a successful comeback late last season after 12 months off, I think he had a knee recon. He did an excellent job coaching Eastern Eyre while rehabilitating.

Re: Eastern Eyre Footy
As I have only been in the area for a few years and not qualified to name a Best of' Eastern Eyre team, I have named an 'All Star' Eastern Eyre team instead.
F: Robert Schaeffer (Kimba) Chris Prime (Ports) Levi Greenwood (Ports)
HF: Reece Francis (Kimba) Darren Smith (Rudall) Steve Wildman (Cowell)
C: Jason Ramsey (Ports) Rick MacGowan (DPW) Kyle Jenner (Cleve)
HB: Nigel Fiegert (Rudall) Darryl Wakelin (Kimba) Brian Ramsey (Cleve)
B: Tim Walsh (Cowell) Shane Wakelin (Kimba) Brett Chalmers (DPW)
Rucks: Shaun Rehn (Ports) Corey Enright (Kimba)
Rover: Sam Gray (Rudall)
Interchange: Julian Burton (Cowell) Noel Stuart (Rudall) Rex Eatts (Kimba)
I have added a few ring ins who began their league careers just prior to the formation of Eastern Eyre to make up the numbers.

Re: Eastern Eyre Footy
I'm not that familiar with this league, but I remember hearing about a Jenner who played 20 or so years ago, Kyle's uncle I think. Paul? Heard he was a star in his day. Presumably he would be a contender for best ever team (not the all stars one)

Re: Eastern Eyre Footy
He has played a handful of games over the last few years and while he is probably only a shadow of his former self you can still tell he was a class player.

Re: Eastern Eyre Footy
paul jenner played as a kid before going away for a short stin and coming back .... would have won 8 a grad flags / 2 mail medals / goal kicking / club b&f's, think his brother andrew won 10 flags, and grant many, both andrew and grant have also coached a grade flags.
steve w has played for cowell for the last 10+ years i think, being in all there 2000 flags, wasp and boh will no more about him

Re: Eastern Eyre Footy
names i would say best ee team from late 90's to now......who have played big chunks of carrer in ee, not 1 or 2 years
cleve - ramsey, byrnes, brown, jenners, simes, bamo, schubert
some others from the top of my head
cowell - frank wildman, buzz fiegert
kimba - gadge, plus many from the last 15yrs of being at the top
ports - c prime, chomp masters
rudall - brucey lee (R.I.P champ)
d/p - john humph, plus many more im sure (never seen much senior football before the club folding)
them players i would have thought have been consistent top level players for some time, others may have played at higher level after playing in the eefl at some stage.
like all these things, everybody sees things dif, just my thoughts, dont think anybody can be right or wrong, but good for some banter
