Just A grade at this stage.
Robert Hopkins after his successful year in 08/09 as his first year as captain was the obvious choice

Lets just hope that with this decent draw for Plympton that we use it as an advantage and hopefully win. This also means getting numbers out on the track and it all start with pre season. It has been encouraging to see so many good juniors out at pre season but it is about time the senior players come out so that the A grade expecially are not a joke come round 1.
Bulldogs007, heard a rumour Plympton were thinking of reintroducing the tradition of supplying tea during the main break but were strongly advised it could financially ruin the club when they saw the paddock their fast bowler had spent the winter in

Justin Calderbank signed a Memorandum of Understanding that he would not play a pull shot inside the first 5 over of his innings. On that basis we reappointed him Captain.

Captains have been selected at Keswick. Thus far only the B grade has not been assigned.
A Grade - Russell Curyer
B Grade - Yet to be announced
C Grade - Mark Brake
D Grade - Barry Kearsley
E Grade - Andrew Rigby
As far as im aware the club is just deciding who will be the best fit for the B grade job.
Going back to the paid players saga, Keswick, as far as im aware, dont pay anyone coin however there is one special guy down there that does get paid in hair care products. Looking after his locks is quite a dificult and expensive job so the club compensate his time and effort on the cricket pitch with 6 months supply of shampoo and condition and a free hair massage a week, given to him by Rusty. Ross Ormsby knows it to be true so dont let him tell you otherwise. i guess thats why his hair is like...out of a movie or something.

Bulldogs007 is still playing tho unlike FIGJAM11 who has retired for a record 101 times at Plympton. All the best at your new club BEDFORD INDUSTRIES 11. heard that your captain coach. At least you wont have a shortage of players out there you would fit right in at home

Have heard a nasty rumour that big Cheeky is on a recruiting drive for Coromandel and splashing a little bit of coin.

If true, has any one from your club been approached?

Ofcourse not, they are chasing guns. We are well balanced without superstars and just in need of a batsman or two.

Very true - still one of only a handfull of blokes in our comp who can genuinely swing the ball both ways. Unfortunately I can run faster than he bowls these days... and I'm not quick.

Re: Adelaide Suburban Cricket Association 2009-10
Is this a rumour around the valley AF or is it a fact?
Do coro have a bar at there club? If so, they would have some $$$ to splash around i guess.
If they have not approached anyone from your club, im assuming there having a crack at the hills and southern leagues?

I'd be surprised if Coro have any money to throw around. They, like us, have no bar to speak of, no association with other sporting clubs and basically run from player subs.
Having said that, there's always the potential of bringing in sponsors and using those dollars to recruit... Will be keen to hear what happens. I guess we'll see come round 1 who lines up for them.

My bet would be Sturt as a couple of their guys went and played there and are possibly back this year.

Re: Adelaide Suburban Cricket Association 2009-10
The bloke I know they targeted is not an ex-coromandel player. I doubt it could stack up to big $$$, bit it was certainly something more than subs and a shirt.
I would think Coromandel need batsmen more than anything. They have some decent bowling but can't make runs.

That has definitely been there problem in recent times.
Looking at all the sides, is there a side that has a stronger batting then bowling line up?
I cant think of one. Maybe NH? But thats probably n potential more then anything
