didnt no they had any legends.
Ted
its just got so hard for clubs to attract players and especially coaches and is getting harder, i think with new playing hours its goin to be worse. Look gepps dont have a coach, pooraka losing alot of players, payneham advertising for a captain, farmers not really adding to there list, not sure how Phills Modbury are looking. Its going to be so important to foster your young kids, but this is getting harder as district clubs pinch them to fill up numbers. im from ingle farm and we have boys at East torrens, prospect and woodville some playing in the seniors and doing well and others who bat at 8 and dont bowl cause the old pricks in the lower grades favour there mates. Now surely we shouldnt have players at woodville FFS. Why cant SACA use the SANFL principle of lining up District clubs with suburban clubs and your boys go to that club. If another District club wants someone from out of there zone they pay a fee for them. Im sick of seeing kids go to district clubs only to be used up for numbers geez we will give them a go.
Juniors are ATCA doing them?? Why arent we as clubs getting a say on Under 17s & 15s and what ATCA should do with them, in the end the association is answerable to us the clubs.
Why do Saca have 16s & 14s reds and whts why not have one team in 16s and 14s and have an elitist punch of kids. I could go on and on and on but goin to bed.

Re: Adelaide Turf Cricket
Heard a rumour dist clubs may only have 1 side in each grade for kids, may be wrong of course. Why is the answer to recruit outsiders to your club as coaches and captains they only move on,home grown leader that the kids grow up watching and performing would be a much better choice, bloke who took the kids to woodies should have been clamped down on long time before he had the opportunity to do so,the junior side is ran by parents with agendas at the moment.

Heard the Kilburn coach is running around offering fringe 'A' grade players $800 sign on + plenty $$$'s for runs/wickets.
Might still have some left after the footy season, must be a pretty big pot they've got down there!

C.C.: Interesting to note how well Gepps have done on and off the field since the current Kilburn Coach was asked to leave. Players wives and girlfriends happy to spend some time at the club knowing they no longer have to put up with Mr Crass.

He has a shocking reputation and can be a nasty piece of work. not your ideal club man! Actually fits nicely into the culture of some clubs.

Re: Adelaide Turf Cricket
Seems that the powers to be at Kilburn have little respect for the dollars raised by members, as is evident by some of the offers extended by the current coach. If they took 2 x ($1000 + $800) = $3600.00 and put it towards a junior coordinator and developed a junior programme, the need to offer stupid amonts of money to fringe "A" grade players from other clubs would not be required. If any success is achieved, it is only short term. The successfull future of suburban sporting clubs is in the development of sound junior programmes, not the appeasing of large egos.

From what i can gather, Port Districts are going down the same path.
