Pels, I'm loading up on Paximadia in race 2. Good winner last start and should go very well. In the betting Hucklebuck is fave but I reckon Pax is better.

Mr 6, Boban will go pretty close as well. Despite running the wrong way, it has to be a great chance, if it handles the left hand bend. 1 run at Caulfield previously was unplaced but goes well at the trip. Might lay it if it's slow or heavy.

Mr 7, Platelet, just because! It'll get a good sit, loves the distance, not so great at the track but is never unplaced at the track or distance. loves wet, good, whatever. Just because!!! Spirit of Boom the main danger.

Mr 8, Garud. Is 1 2nd and 1 3rd from 2 starts at the track but is up in grade. Has Williams on board which is a plus. Last win was over 2400m so this distance is more suitable and arguably has returned in better form this campaign. Doesn't mind Slow tracks either if Melb has some rain.

Mr 9, Red Tracer. Should win this..... 6:3-2-1 second up says enough.

Mr 10, 15 Silent Achiever. Only beaten 1.6l last start at 2000m and is 3:1-1-0 at the distance (2400m). Risk it on a dead track. Other concern is that it's only won once in 12 months. However, I'll go e/w on it at about 9's or 10's.

I know one of the owners of Hawkspur and they are still very confident despite the draw and think stablemate Royal Descent is the danger and Julienas at odds... I was at Caulfield last week and was on Aerobatics and will follow up again. FWIW I like a couple of roughies being Galah and Ready to Rip...
Best bet for the weekend though is She's Clean in the last in Sydney..

I'm on Jet Away for the Cup tomorrow, and have also boxed it with Royal Descent, Hawkspur, Silent Achiever and Faulkner for trif and first four.

I really like Royal Descent. Priming itself for either this or the Cup, not sure which still. Lol. Had $100 on it in the Turnbull Stakes and it didn't raise a yelp.

Also have Verema at $34 in the Melbourne Cup. Backed it a few weeks ago and it has firmed to $15.

I'm on Mount Athos for the Melb Cup...but anything can happen in that race!

Ditto Farbs re the trifecta but I've included Moriaty. Reckon it's last run was a ripper, only 1.4l away and down in weights.

Can't find a horse called Faulkner.
I'm backing one called Fawkner.
This thing is a top liner and smashed horses last spring.
Ran third last week in the Turnbull but has never ran at this distance but is a much stronger horse this season and they are gradually stretching its race distance out.
Fourth start back and I reckon it's ready to be first passed the post for a lot of races this spring.
Lloyd Williams horse as well. He don't muck around.

Now that's a good day.
Watch the lad playing cricket then slip down to the Cremorne at 5 and whack 20 each way on Fawkner and walk out $265 in front.

Unfortunately for me, I had big bets on Paximadia, Platelet and Silent Achiever and smaller bets on Boban and Red Tracer! So I came out well behind.

No worries mate.
Just a bit of a joke.
My sense of humour is questionable at times.
Hope you backed it.
Don't know if it can get 3200 but it gave every indication that its a mature horse now and looks as though that's the target.
$7.50 ATM for the cup which I reckon is a bit short.
I think the last horse to go the Caulfield/Melb cups was Might And Power.
Was on Doriemus that year when Greg Hall thought he'd nailed it on the post.
Hope I spelt that right.

Ha we were discussing it at the Pub on Sat and my guess was Might & Power, maybe Gurners Lane before that?

As for Saturday, not the worst day on the punt but far from the best .. Having a shithouse run with picking multiple runners for Trifecta's and getting 2 of them home, and yes that included the Cup - Couldn't split Dandino and Fawkner so unfortunately took the former, Craig ******* Williams continues to haunt me!!

No dramas, nah i didn't back it - had mine on Jet Away unfortunately.
Mr bro chucked $35 on the nose on it though, so he was pretty happy!
Always tough to pick the Melb Cup - this year no different.
Turning my mind to the Cox plate now...or Geelong cup on Wednesday - Small field by the looks.
