If they took 2 x ($1000 + $800) = $3600.00 and put it towards a junior coordinator and developed a junior programme, the need to offer stupid amonts of money to fringe "A" grade players from other clubs would not be required. If any success is achieved, it is only short term. The successfull future of suburban sporting clubs is in the development of sound junior programmes, not the appeasing of large egos.

Can tell you the figures Kilburn that are being quoted on here is totally over exaggerated Yes they have offered a couple of players some incentives to play, but they will not get rich on them FYI they do have a junior programe They will have more sides this year than last year Turf practice wickets are getting laid

Yes i do agree with EB53. We dont offer big dollars to people just a small incentive to play for us. We have 7 junior sides and they will be our future. We have 3 or 4 lads in state saca jnr squads and many players now trying there luck at district cricket. So i would say we do foster junior cricketers and are about promoting the game. Look probably 15 years ago we paid alot of money to 7 or 8 guys and this bought success to the club and that lasted for 6 or 7 years and then nearly crippled us to the point the doors only just stayed open. A lesson learnt by us .

Fixtures haven't been released as yet. You'd expect they would have to come out in the next week or so.
The last couple of years haven't come out till the very last minute. One of those years the first round of the LO's was postponed cos they still hadn't worked out the fixtures. Hopefully with a new General Manager things will run a bit more smoothly this year.
