I suffered a knee injury yesterday- I don't know how serious, but I have been up all night in pain.
It is a pain I've never known before- dull, burning & constant, yet if I move it slightly, it f***in hurts.
Anyone have any experience with this? ie- should I be fearing the worst?
If so I'd be devastated, as that could mean the end for me
I would describe the location as where the lateral collateral ligament meets the fibula

sorry to hear punk about ur injury. its the worst part of sport. luckily for me, i only ended up with a few sore spots after our local derby with elizabeth yesterday and i have definately had more physical clashes with them in the past.
so, whats up with lutheran? loss last week to elizabeth and a 7 point win over brahma lodge!

PR DID MY KNEE IN 85
vast swelling and pain in right knee. couldn't turn unless moved upper body 1st. couldn't straighten leg and reverted to crutches.
went to sportsmed on sunday and put into calvery hospital that afternoon.
diagnosed as tearing medial ligament and medial meniscus.
2 days latter doctor wilson lee (think he went on to do rehn's knee's) operated (said never to play again.)
i did. played in a premiership in 87 admittedly "B" grade BUT played centre.
from what you said you have done, my doctor at the time said it would have been easier to do your lateral than medial to keep playing.
FOR WHAT ITS WORTH
the medial ligament is the crucial one for the knee. was told it holds the main structure of the knee. the lateral is a support ligament.
meniscus and lateral ligaments are like shock absorbers in between your top and bottom knee joints. their there to stop the bones knocking together.
my meniscus was removed which sometimes causes pain and swelling at times. the medial was repaired.
ADMITTEDLY
this was back in 85 and would think since then medical procedures have improved.
it took almost year and a half before i played my 1st game again
I went to a fight the other night, and a hockey game broke out. - Rodney Dangerfield (1921 - 2004)
