Elgar 134*
Bedingham 55*
Commentators mentioned that he looks a Mark Waugh clone with his batting

When you see his punch thru the covers on the back foot there is a lot of Mark Waugh and Jackpot Jim in that shot
Mark with the bat , Jackpot Jim bowling the ball

=)) =))

Bedingham turns 30 in a few months.
Averages just under 50 in 1st class cricket
Surprising hasn't been given an opportunity before
Looked completely at home againt Bumrah and Co on a typical South African pitch which is always doing something.
Was a shock when he got bowled by a pretty much straight helf volley

Yes Rana the host of the Wisden Cricket Podcast said he looks a bit like Mitch Marsh batting.

He was in the UK under a Kolpak deal for a few years which ruled him out of playing for SA I believe.
If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation.

I was listening to the Wisden Cricket Podcast this morning and the guys on there were talking about him and his path to playing for SA which lead me to looking him up and I read on Cricinfo that he held a UK ancestry visa (due to both sets of grandparents being born in England) and was using it to play as a local player for Durham but due to the UK's separation from the EU it meant his visa and Kolpak qualification no longer applied meaning that he was changed back to an overseas player for Durham.

And they did, India rolled for 131 and lose by an innings and 32 runs. Absolutely love to see that and even with there being a second test match to be played yet again they will go home without a series win South Africa.

South Africa quicks were very good. Nandre Burger looked alright in his first test.

The South Africans bowlers have always been solid. With Rabada, Jansen, Notre when there as well, they are pretty solid but that batting is a huge issue.

Geez that Saffer test squad going to NZ is like a bunch of pub cricketers going on a cricket trip.
The skipper is a bloke yet to make his debut and the most experienced bloke is some dud with 15 caps and the rest of the squad is just filled with part timers.
Massive slap in the face for test cricket

What a mess the South Africans have got themselves into. Essentially mandating players stay to play its own T20 tournament (which has failed previously and is hardly a world beater) in preference of Tests shows how faarked cricket administration of some countries has become.

This is the continuation of Cricket South Africa’s attempts to mimic Australia’s summer schedule, including a Boxing Day Test, except they have no idea how to schedule it around their ICC commitments. It also suggests that no-one outside of South Africa really cares about their domestic priorities at this stage, as they don’t have the clout of Australia to influence the ICC schedule.
