Na I realise that just stating they need more than a couple to be up their with the top teams or to atleast be competitive for starters which I'm sure that's all they're after. Fair distance from Adelaide to try and get players there, we have enough trouble here at half the distance

Some Mt Compass players seeing as they are stinking it up at the moment???

Compass stinking it up????
Considering the 'outs' they had this year (Iceman, Maxy, Burdett, Ziggy etc) they had a pretty good year to finish 6th and 1 game out of the 5!

Just got back from the Mail/Virgo medal count.

Jared Greenbank (KLU) won it, very good effort from the bloke who is only just ineligible for the league's rising star (which was won by Matt Willson, Naracoorte).

Seb Guilhaus (KLU) finished second, you don't appreciate just how big this bloke is until you stand next to him. Looks like Ivan Drago from Rocky IV.

Money well spent by Kaniva I'd say. Turner surprisingly didn't poll much at all to complete the three.

Surprised Baxter didnt rate in the top few for Kaniva... He always seems to be raving on how well he has been playing :?

The above two featuring highly didn't help other Kaniva blokes get votes.

Early on in the game today I thought Kaniva looked crap. Keith kicked the first three but Kaniva levelled and the first half was even.

Completely different game after half time. Kaniva nine goals in the third, Keith one. Margin ended at 75 points.

Greenbank four goals and a shitload of disposals.
Neil Reeves 6 goals.
Guilhaus might have lost four or five taps all day.

Beautiful spring day at Frances today.

Bordertown got up over Padthaway and will face Keith next week. Padthaway looked in control at various stages of the first half and were doing enough to keep in front but then Bordertown surged and edged in front in the third and did the same as Padthaway was doing in the first half - just doing enough to keep ahead. Their defence probably won it in the end, rock solid.

Vunitabua, Hayes, Copestick impressive for Roosters. For Padthaway, Cody Marshall was everywhere.

I was back in Adelaide and was shocked to see the result in the Sunday Mail. The boys at work said they were up by around 100points at one stage too!
I'm not too proud to admit I was wrong ... I certainly didn't expect the Roosters to make it. Good luck to them on the weekend. I'll be at the bar with a tinny in hand cheering them on.

Yeah was a shock. Will be a great atmosphere there given the crowds at other finals.

I'll be floating around the place. Look for the bloke in a Border Districts shirt with a camera. Better get all my shots done in the first half before the beers start to hit me.

Very well done by the Roosters. They looked shot for a while late in the year but have recovered and did it in style.

Were much cleaner than K/L yesterday.

Have already heard there's a few movements.

Luke Duncan from Penola to South Gambier as coach.
Jon Copping from South Gambier back to Penola.
Matt Willson from Naracoorte to Penola. After winning the KNT rising star award this year - big move.
