Looks like he'll be making Chopper - "The Bish" - do some serious cardio saturday afternoons in the 2013-14 season and that would of course be NIBS! Stay solid Tony!

well well well, here we are kiddies, the eve of the grand final. the big battle between the bays and the vale. and big kev style, IM EXCITED!!!! had a little trouble sleeping last night such is the excitement. i cant decide what the highlight of the weekend will be for me though, will it be seeing bodie "ian botham" wilson steam in off the long run or watching the grenfell brothers, sam and jake bat together in a GF. what a proud moment that would be for mum and dad.

ive checked mycricket.com.au for selected sides and seen that the bays have made no change to the side that played in the semi final and i would expect mclaren to be the same.

for the vale to win and claim another flag they need to get off to a good start with the bat and take early wickets and expose the likes of overarm, lintern, parry to a fresh nut. if the pony is well fed it may be a long day in the field for the vale boys. for the bays to claim victory and enter the promise land they need to hold their catches. they havent been able to catch a cold in previous finals series and were bundled out accordingly. moules, overarm, moller and butler will create plenty of chances but cn they hold them?

certainly promises to be an exciting weekend down at elliot, cant wait to have a red can with cockles and truck and maybe a feel good iced coffee with tubby gordge and watch all this unfold. hope to see you all there! breather - OUT!

I am very keen to see Jake Grenfell preform this weekend, heard he has given the all clear for his girlfriend to come and watch him for the first time this weekend. This could be a master move by Grenfell or the distraction could be disastrous, not switched on at the best of times.

To the game, I think it will be a cracker. Early wickets are the key. Both opening batting partnerships are strong! Moules vs Nairn - not sure who is quicker???
Duncombe vs Moller - not sure who turns it more??? Lastly... I drove past Encounter Bay 3 nights this week, all the lads were there training flat out, but there was 1 guy missing... C. Lintern... Heard he has been out on the golf course all week & may be a late withdrawal on Saturday as he has a golf comp??? #whatcomesaroundcomesaround

Here we are on the eve of the Grand Final. Encounter Bay and McLaren the two best sides all year and should be a blockbuster!

On paper its hard to go past Encounter Bay. They have unbelievable depth with both bat and ball and like they have been all year they will be extremely tough to beat. As we know Grand Final's aren't won on paper and Vale are every chance of taking the flag.

As Neck Breather pointed out it's crucial for Vale to get off to a good start. They need to expose the middle order of Grenfell, Lintern, Overall and Parry to the new ball early. If Beveridge and Simmons can continue their form at the top of the order and set a solid base it could be a long day for Vale. Big job for Nairn this match. You know what your gonna get form Ifould but if Nairn can jag a few early it might send the cracks thru the batting order.

Key Match Ups
Moules V Nairn - Killer was spot on with his evaluation. The emergence of Nairn as one of the premier young quicks in the competition taking a match winning 5/24 last week has catapulted him into the Moules bracket. Will be great to see these two spearheads go head to head and claim that number 1 spot!

Ifould V Lintern - Both pivotal to their teams success. Both middle order rocks but as we have seen with Ifould in the SF and the PF he has struggled when facing the newer rock. This will be the challenge for Vale with the ball, to expose Lintern as early as possible.

Moller V Duncombe
Moller spun a web last match against Vale and will once again be key. If it's a touch wet he might struggle with purchase on the ball but make no mistake those wrong-uns will still be the stock delivery. Duncombe has struggle to take wickets against the Bays his 2 wickets in the SF being his first 2 for the season. Vale will need a big lift from him to add that variety to their attack... not just to the Enc Bay's scorecard!

Final word
Both sides harbour a lot of natural talent and very exciting cricketers. How will the young brigade of Altus and Chambers stand up in the big games? If these two fire it will be exciting to watch. The Grenfell brothers will no doubt put on a show! Rumours of elder brother Sam, heading back North, means this could be the final time the two bat together for the Bays. Preparation is crucial and younger brother Jake will no doubt stick to his pre-match day hydration routine and consume the standard carton of Carton Cold!

Encounter Bay just seem far to strong - their isn't a weak link in their 11. They have been leaps ahead of all opponents this year and I can't see this changing over the weekend. Good luck to both sides and I'll enjoy watching the show!

Enc Bay will start short priced favourites having both a strong batting and bowling lineup. To only lose one game for the season is a great performance, and if they put in another consistent team effort they should lift the cup. For mclaren to win they need to hopefully win the toss and make at least 150. Altus snr must bat at 3 to blunt the pace attack of the bays and protect Chambers ,Ifould and Wilson from the new ball. My tip for the gf.. logic says the bays will win easily so for that reason i think Mclaren will get up in a tight one. Good luck to both teams and hopefully no dodgy umpiring decides the result.

Well deserved win by Encounter Bay they were the best side all year. Another low scoring Grand Final... well played by both sides! McLaren fought it out to the end, but in the 80 was always going to be very hard to defend.

Also, well done to Ziggy Vit. in his second game of Seniors for Sturt. ABC commentators quote "This kid is playing in a different gear, lucky he brought his own footy"! Nice work bud, sadly as the commentators pointed out, he won't be staying too long in SANFL so enjoy it while you can. I think the same would be said now with cricket.

Was a poor batting performance, but having the other team at 6/40 the lads showed great heart against a great side in Encounter Bay.

Was speaking to a Rapids player at last years GF preso's (may have been the captain even) where he said the guys have pretty much had enough of A grade..

Would it make that team a majority of the Yank side form last year then? It won't be Yank / Rapids in B's surely..

i think yank and rapids may put in a combined A grade from what im hearing, but stay serperate in lower grades. similar to what port elliot and goolwa did a few years ago. personally i like the idea. will add depth to the A grade comp. only worry is will this begin the death of the rapid bay cricket club? i hope not.
