Rugby even struggles on the GC, there is still debate if the titans are sustainable up there

Difficult to know. Gold Coast isn't the best place to live I wouldn't imagine.
Plus, if you've now got the template of Prestia and Lynch moving on for premierships, it doesn't bode well for them does it?
is it really the club's fault for players wanting to go home or seeking better opportunities?
I think their drafting has been poor and their player development just as poor. Moving on McKenna hasn't proven to be a great decision, they've only gone backwards from there.
I seriously don't know if it's 100% the club's fault.
Of course it’s the clubs fault. GWS and the Suns were given pretty similar concessions to start up and yet GWS is a regular finals contentender whilst the Suns have never even made finals. Sheedy was fairly smart when setting GWS up and they selected some good leaders first and filled their list with kids and were prepared to cop a few years of pain to keep collecting picks and building their list. The Suns went out and wasted their dough on god boy and other club discards which set a garbage culture from the start.
That's absolute crap JIm, GWS were given far better draft picks to start their club with. The AFL stuffed up the Gold Coast from the beginning. They also need extra salary to keep them there. The AFL should make an offer to Joel Selwood that he cant refuse to go up there, take his brother with, they are the perfect fit to get the club on track

Pick 19 and 20 for B Crouch seems about right. No way will the AFL let them trade pick 1 or 2. I have a feeling that's why they might have been given that extra pick at the start of the 2nd round. The Suns certainly cant afford to trade away pick 1 or 2 for Crouch and them have him sit out injured for a season as has been his history. Crouch is a massive risk for them

Yeah it sure is. Hang on to him this year. Let him go ad a free agent a s realistically your finishing top 8 next year are you. So the band 1 compo pick for a deal that big will be a decent first round. Depends on how you go in 2020, but could be a pick around 6 or 7.

Gee I can think of worse places in Australia to live. Great climate, awesome scenery and nobody knows or cares who you are.
Its the age of the entitlement generation, that get whatever they want. Managers earn more coin by promoting their players to do more media/promoting in Melbourne. There's two reasons!
Just before we go hard on Lynch, he spent a good 6 or 7 years on the Gold Coast list before heading home. That's not bad considering some of the piss weak efforts we have seen from the Vic Metro sookies

Ill answer my own question 19=948 20=912 1860 5=1878 6=1751 so pretty much worth pick 5, I think that's about right. Bare in mind the crows as it stands have a horrible draft hand, pick 4 and then nothing until the 60s or 70s I believe. They are going to need to replace at least a dozen players, not sure how many of them they will be earning them good draft picks. Wouldn't want to fill the squad with picks 100 to 108 for instance lol

They have pick 4 and two more picks in the 20's this year before getting what they get for greenwood, keath, betts, JJ etc
Mooted Hill to St Kilda for pick 6, Fremantle give Geelong 6 and 7 for Kelly ( Geelong would have to take that )
Frampton Port > Fremantle/Adelaide
Elliott Collingwood > Melbourne
Cats should take that in heartbeat. We need some quality youth. Kelly loss is massive of course but we aren't contending (despite finishing top can you believe) and we just don't get access to top ten picks. This could be a massive draft for the Cats. Hope so anyway. Kel doesn't want to play for us so if we can get 6 and 7 that is more than fair. It screws the Eagles too...added bonus.

Sad to say but Gaz is cooked. I'd be amazed if he retired. He just had to be shoved IMO. Ablett will still play some brilliant football for the Cats next season but come September the tank will be well and truly empty as it was this season. If Gaz does play on, we can't play him every week like we did this season. He needs to be nursed through the year Luke Hodge like so that he has something in the tank when the finals come around. We can't field a team of slow, knackered veterans and expect to beat the likes of GWS and Richmond.
In other Cat news Scott Selwood has been delisted. Scotty gave his all but injuries got the better of him, particularly this season. It was a good idea to get him to the club and we tried to develop him as a run with player but his body never really allowed him to show his best football often enough. You could probably say the same for his days at West Coast. I think Gaz should go and Taylor should walk away also. Yoof Catters Yoof!
