Ironbank A's trained as well as we have all year. Quiet confidence. Massive challenge obviously but also great opportunity to see where were at. Exelby still out with the nose/eye socket thanks to the late hit against onkas. Only one change with Widdison coming in after doing his compulsory 2 weeks training and unlucky Bawden out. C. Hamp also unlucky not to be elevated from the B's after 7 goals from on the ball last week.

Another 60+ players on the track!!

What the tips boys?
Blacky over Barker
Onkas over Hahndy
Ironbank just
Lofty kill Lobethal
Bridgewater just

But never the less Ironbank last thursday had 65+ on the track so even those who trained missed out on a game. Crazy! bit hard to find space on the oval wit that amount of numers at training too

i thought you could only fit 36 on that oval at any one time! "wit those numers at training." Because it's so HUGE that oval of yours

B grade very similar TWE, a couple of changes but to tell you the truth I don't remember! Flahts coming back from injury through the B's and a couple up from the C's

Big test for both A and B grade against the Cabbages...........bring it on!!

Congrats to Sinkers on finally picking up an A Grade birth for the devs. Also great maturity from Shane Maslin in dropping himself to the B grade to have a full game, rather than just a quarter or 2 in the A's. Great stuff mate. Good to see Paechy retain his spot, hopefully he will shove it up those who don't rate him. Good luck also to Brett Pistola in his first match.

For the Country Division followers, does anyone know who from their club is out training for the rep game against Kangaroo Island.
From Maccy, I know of Murphy, Julian, Tamarapa, Lynch and I think perhaps Long.
Although as with a few other players like Dawe and Carter, there's a good chance Murphy might be playing in the Central division match.

Tips

Mount Barker if Gigney plays on Nunan or Byrt- that bloke NEVER mans up, overrated and should be exposed
Onkas will pump Hahndorf simple as that- Hahndorf just have no-one to kick to or to defend
Uri's will beat Ironbank, but if Uraidla are gonna lose in round one this will be the one and it wouldn't be a shock, just a surprise.
An undermanned Lofty will still run rings around an old, slow and seemingly uninspired Lobey, no Coad doesn't help.
A confident Shanty will beat Birdwood, but you can bet the Roosters have been looking forward to this one! Prove my tip wrong Birdwood please!

Also, what are blokes opinions on players choosing to sit out HFL rep duties this year? A lot of blokes I have spoken to reckon the one weekend off of footy given to players this season is a more attractive option than playing a rep game and making it 19 games without a break. And if you play for Lofty, IB, Blackwood or Onkas, of which two will make top three, that could mean 23 games without a week off. I tend to agree with those i have spoken to thus far.

Much to Owen's dismay it's a decision which enevitably is the player's. It isn't neccassarily a bad thing though, as these older blokes with families who want to enjoy the weekend away, open up spots for younger players in the comp!!! This to me is a great thing, local talent needs more recognition in the Hills comp and if this is the way it comes, then im all for it! If the HFL doesn't see it this way maybe next year they could look to adopt the split round from the AFL!!! Don't think you would get too many players arguing with that concept!

tips....

Mt Barker vs Blackwood --> tough one, but i might go for the Woods
Onkas vs Hahndorf --> another tough week for the Black and Whites, i say a MASSIVE slogging may be the call
Uris vs Ironbank --> Could possibly be an upset, but i still think cabbage will get over the line....just
Lofty vs Lobethal --> Lofty easily
Birdwood vs Bridgewater --> Im going to back the dark horse, they NEED to win at least one game this year, i have a feeling this may be the one seeing Lobethal only JUST beat them.

joker, mount lofty are doing fine. There are a few injuries about the place but i dont see anyone beating them come the end of the year.

If they are to win back to back does that mean they bought 2 flags? or is that just good management from club officials to keep the quality players at the club?

You would probably find clubs in the comp that are paying out more money than lofty this year.

Enough about the money, everyone is paying players at some point, its still the players that win the games, not the money. If you pay lots of money to poo players does that make them better????? Nope, let it go and worry about the footy.

Sorry been busy today, but did u want me to bite? Coach always get paid at Kersbrook. Until the Pearce bricklaying fraternity start laying golden brick houses, that's all we can afford.

Only 2 brothers playing against Kangy tmorow.

Stapleton, chapman, temme, peach, baldock, d.k stevens, dawes, davies, broadbridge, huff, cutting, maslin, neilson, artis, burch and peterson-grey are all locals at mount lofty.

thats 16, more than likely 11 will play therefore making half of the team locals.
