Jason Kidd looks to be named as nets head coach.

Very surprised by this move. Only retired a week ago

Thought he would be an assistant first.

Can someone tell me why the NBA playoffs run a 2-2-1-1-1 system but the Final is 2-3-2?
Is it to do with logistics, travel or TV?
Spurs could wrap it up in SA which would mean Miami only gets 2 games at home despite being ranked higher.

Yep, because of all the national & international media that cover the NBA Finals series they make it easier for them by doing a 2-3-2 format as opposed to the regular 2-2-1-1-1 format to ensure optimum coverage.

I knew the deal but was a little miffed back in '04 when the Lakers despite having home court only got 2 games (1 & 2) at home and the Pistons got 3 (3,4,5). Of course if the Lakers were good enough (Kobe lol) they would've sent the series back to LA for games 6 and possibly 7.

Thanks for that, the NHL play 2-2-1-1-1 all the way through their finals and it seems a better and fairer system.
I know the Heat shouldn't of dropped Game 1 at home and maybe they will pinch one of the next 2 to take it back to Miami but it just doesnt seem right that the lower ranked team get more finals at home

i had a massive whinge about this on here a few years ago when the Lakers were playing the Celtics in the Finals. alas, all worked out well for us that year.

a pretty cool stat i read the other day on twitter......

The last 15 Finals Series have had at least one of Kobe, DWade, LeBron or Duncan playing in them. 15!!!! and obviously 3 of those guys are there this year. that's pretty insane.

Spurs win 114-104 to take a 3-2 lead.
Last 4 games have all had double figure margins, was expecting a much tighter series than this

Spurs have a decent run to finish the half up 50-44
Duncan with 25pts at the half, huge effort

Even if Miami win?

LeBron leads the second half come back. Duncan has been slowed down in the second half. Ginobili after a great game 5 has been rubbish so far and Green has been shooting like a human. Chris Andersen 4 rebounds, I think the stat is Miami has not lot this season when he gets 4 rebounds or more.

Would love a game 7. Nothing better than the NBA finals going right to the wire IMHO. Happy either way with the result as I think 5 championships reflects Duncan's greatness and I think James gets criticised far too harshly and a second ring would at least give him a little breathing space.

The little things always matter so much. Miami up by 3 2 minutes left and Spurs miss. Instead of Miami taking the ball down the other end for a chance to make it 5 or 6 Spurs get the offensive rebound and hit a 3 to level. Miami then turns it over and Spurs get 2 more to take the lead. Another turnover and SAS make 2 free throws to lead by 4, 37 seconds left. ANOTHER turnover and Miami are playing the foul game to stay alive. This one is dead and buried, folks. They might have flair, but the basics are what killed Miami today.
