Lacey will 100% be at Roopena next year. He went to Uni with Quist as well.

Lacey played at Ironbank
Quisty Played at Kangarilla
both lads played majority in the 1's last year, only young guys, finding their feet, should give it a good crack up there next year.

Lacey is the type of player that makes you watch in aw with his solid tackles, pressure in defence would be a handy inclusion in any U14 side in Whyalla, just ask the kid how good he is and time will pass from morning to night. As for his character, great lad to be around all the best to you lace

Re: Whyalla Football League
Lacey is a very good wet weather footballer, always a class above when the wet stuff comes down. Should be interesting to see how the dryer weather affects those massive pistons he calls thighs?

Re: Whyalla Football League
It does not rain in Whyalla, Roos have all the money so may as well spend it, Westies the youngest side by far. Waylons biggest test will be going from mate to coach.

Agreed, also if you've ever seen the way Ryan Burgess (Waylon's cousin) argues with him at times, you'd think he'd struggle to rope him in.
Apparently Burgess changed his attitude with the vice-captaincy and Nielsen beleives this will continue in 09 so there's that one solved.
Fiebig in the engine room is still the best player in the league IMO and with the strong recruiting power the Roos have they should be finals contenders again.

Re: Whyalla Football League
It will be interesting to see how Waylon goes in his first year, great bloke but hasnt had any real coaching experience.
If the rumours are correct they are chasing up a fair few players that have come in to town and also have talked to a couple from rival clubs.
Have heard that they have signed a young lad that was at North Adelaide this year.

Re: Whyalla Football League
Also heard that talks between Roopena and Matt Oliver have stalled as his girlfriend will be studying in Adelaide this year and will make it hard to see each other.
Yet again this is another massive rumour which Whyalla is big for !!!!!

Re: Whyalla Football League
Peter Usher, former premiership player at Central Whyalla and more recently playing at Willunga and Mt Compass in the GSFL has signed up with Roopena for next year. Has apparently finished Uni and has moved back home. i would imagine his old club not too happy? Does that mean his mate Ryan Morris (Mail medal in RMFL) will join him?
