Pulteney OS have a new Coach in Daivd Ey after a few years with Pembroke 1sts and we have lost our CHB (when fit ) due to Work commitments interstate, as for recruits for us I havent the slightest idea. which reminds me I havent been to training yet and not likely to until march
Portland have signed David Bird and Mark Heffernan. Bird is a tough-as-nails onballer, played at Port Magpies last year and Heffernan is a half back flanker from Gepps Cross, played in the D2 GF last year. Both good recruits.
Apparently Unley's coach for this season is a guy by the name of Morgan Young. If it's the same bloke that I think it is, I've always known him as "Martin" Young but I noticed in recent times that he has been referred to as "Morgan", including the write up for his good mate and dual SANFL premiership player Matt Cooper's wedding. Morgan (Martin) Young is one of the most talented sportspeople I've ever seen and if he's half as good a coach as he is a sportsman, Unley will go alright.
I always speak the truth felch you should know that. Heard the felch might be pulling the boots back on in 07 any truth to that rumour. Also heard that there is an allstar team in the making down there names such as Emmel, Clarke, Fizulic, Figg, Gaylard all looking for a game under the Felch.
Geez, im not even sure if half those blokes are still alive - some fair players amongst them though. Dont think the legs and body can hold up to playing - the mind is willing, but no, probably not.
We all get like that felch at some stage. So how are things at the thunder recruits, any news you can share with me. Thought about the other day the club is in it's 11th season I wonder if you can come up with a team of the decade for me. There's a challenge.
Has anyone else heard a rumour about Rosewater about to fold ? Cant afford to field teams this season, allegedly. My source was a bit sketchy on details though.
