I think Papas may need a sedative.

Re: Barossa & Light CA 2011/12
Hope this is not gonna get blown up to something it wasn't, was just a parting conversation.
Think Fracka was upset that he had his stump broken in two by Brett Woodards and was maybe feeling
Guilty about any player payments he has accepted as his ability doesn't demand any.
Just a loose theory, was such a minor thing I haven't given it much thought.
We Managed to put a dent in T.Stock's average, he only got 55-ish. The cricket ball knows it's been hit
When he is knocking them around though, gave the Ango boys some headaches....unlike His opening partner.

I also heard that a Centrals player refused to shake hands with the Ango boys after the game, jumped in his car and left straight away, despite his captain pleading with him to come back n do the right thing. Can anyone shed any light on this please?

SG for you to have come out and said i hope nothing comes of it goes to show something will. If brett thinks he can carry on like that and getting personal when running his mouth is a disgrace. Its the first time i have seen some play in the Barossa but i can assure you if a player carried on like brett did yesterday not only would the player involved be on the sidelines his captain would be aswell. Im all for a good game of hard cricket but if you think his actions were ok than i really start questioning your judgement on the game. Knowing brett well i was watching and feeling for him he made himself look like a complete toss. I guess we will wait and see on the outcome. Stock looks very good if he plays week in week out for centrals he will win them alot more games.

There was only one Toss on the field saturday and we all know who that was!!!!.
Brett plays with passion (and agree sometimes goes overboard) but he plays and shows passion for the club not a pay check that he doesn't deserve. I think if you accept payment and under perform then you are opened for ridicule plus add to the factor that a player has left Gaw Cent and joined us due to this certain player, you would then have to be naive not to expect a hostile reception. At then end of the day Brett might have carried on like a peanut a little but he was not the one that got physical.

i take your opinion on board chrissymac, but i will not change the way i play cricket because i might upset a few oposition cricketers on the way... i have some great mates throughout the league that i have had many a word with on a sat afternoon, but some people are big enough to see what happens on the field stays on the field. im sure everyone plays to win. As for yesterdays game it was always going to be a heated contest because of the circumstances around the game... at the end of the day you do something deplorable then you need to be willing to cop abit... i did not do anything that i havent seen on a cricket field many times before. i spoke with kingy after the game and explained myself to him and JL Mosey didnt think anything of it all... he did have a word to me but was more about the whole group. but i guess that comes with playing angaston, we play hard, but will always buy beers after the game. might be why we are where we are at. i really look forward to playing G/C again as they have some great cricketers (stock, king and serle) who make it a great challenge.

Sounds like daisy knows something that we don't.
Duke may have to dust his Dennis Denuto suit off for a character reference.

"Deplorable"???
Deplorable is burgess walking straight up to the batsmans face, on the pitch, and not moving.
Deplorable is burgess running out of his way to get in the batsmans face as he is leaving the field (if that was me, my bat would of ended up wrapped around ur head)
Deplorable is burgess lying to people about what has been spoken about through the forum - "leaving girlfriends home for the match" had nothing to do with anything - tell me, what did u actually mean by that comment? Pretty sure u clarified that comment out on the pitch whilst standing in Frackas face.
Deplorable is Vivian continuing to crap on to anyone and everyone who is willing to listen about something that happened over 6 years ago and im pretty sure hes made it sound much much worse than the truth.. I am not surprised the gossipers have chose to participate and pretend they actually care - how boring ur life must be.
And if Burgess is talking about a deplorable situation that happened 6 years ago - dont worry mate, buddy, pal. Thanks for ur concern, but all people that were involved (didnt realise u knew them - oh thats right - u dont!) Every1 is fine and moved on, so thanks for the concern.
Looking forward to putting a face to the name next time GC play Angaston.

Re: Barossa & Light CA 2011/12
Thanks for your input asktheoriphas, it's insightful people like yourself that turn the game political.
JL Mosey is not the type to let stuff happen on the field and he was as non-plussed as anyone about the situation.
Hopefully this small piece of fluff goes away quickly coz it's not what our game/league needs.
Daysof, I can genuinely say it was a heap of nothing, I did miss what happened after the game when words
Were spoken but I believe the player that left quickly had to return to the chocolate factory to re-apply his orange
Body paint and resume work and that was his reason for leaving abruptly.
Why would he want to hang around after having his stump broken clean in two......embarrassing much?

No Stewie Griffin - Im not turning the game political whatsoever, suggest you go down that so called "political" path with Burgess. I am just as "non-plussed" with the situation as JL Mosey supposably was... one thing u are right with is there is no room for this in our game and im sure this will be the last of it. Anyway - wont keep u up, sounds like ur in the middle of watching charlie & the chocolate factory - enjoy.

Re: Barossa & Light CA 2011/12
Well I guess it was to be expected but the old forum has certainly been running overtime since the Ango vs GCCC game on Saturday - just a pity that most of the comments havent been about the cricket. Great chase by centrals especially as they were a batsman down with Rob Knight apparently breaking his hand in the field, who knows they may have knocked the top side off if he had been able to bat properly....
Also good to see the Chris Martin of the Barossa and Light Cricket comp, Ben Ward, get a couple of runs...
As for the rest of the carry on I (and pretty much everyone else I have spoken to) can simply not understand why the two blokes that seemed to be sledging Fracka the most have absolutely nothing to do with the issue?
There is nothing wrong with giving a bit to the opposition, especially if they are a bit short on runs for the season but some of the things that were said clearly crossed the line and its just not good enough to say that its ok to cross the line because you play 'hard cricket'

I do agree with you extractor that it was a great game of Cricket. Ango started of well adn had a good run rate happening and at drinks were 2/100 odd, GC then were able to restrict the blues to only another 110 in the last 20 overs making GC require 213 for victory. Ex Gaw Cent player Vivian top scored against his old side with 60ish and Scott Rathjen 40 while a few other batsmen got starts but didn't go on. Ango boys took an early scalp in GC run chase but credit where credit is due, Ty Stock is in some rare form and when he hits a ball it stays hit. With Ty at the crease GC were going at the rate nicely until he held out to deep mid on for 55 and the Ango boys then were able to take wickets constantly. Kingy and Wacka steadied the ship for a bit and got the run chase back on track before Wacka was brilliantly caught by Ango's keeper standing up at the stumps off one of Angos' quicks

Yes UTP they have always been played hard...in fact the spray that Peter Cameron gave to Simon Koch in about 2002 is still discussed in the dog box after a good win against Ango.
We also discuss the two times that Ben Burgess made hundreds after nicking balls behind early in his dig - one was caught by Craig Dawe in front of second slip at the dog track if I remember correctly...Still there is no rule that says you need to walk if you nick one...

Ben Burgess not walkingI am shocked. He gave Willy some caught and bowled practice on Saturday
Did Benny walk after the caught and bowled or did he still wait for JL's finger?
When is the next Ango v GC game? need to pencil into my diary now.
