Ace, i hear the meeting today was very fruitful with 'both' sides agreeing on several issues resulting with ' more hands on deck ' off field' which , hopefully for you , helps with onfield results for GXFC

This extra help wont bring in the $$$$ will it though? Be interesting to see how much extra "help" the club will end up getting...

Moz, the 'bush telegraph' works fairly quickly, at least both sides aired their point of view without too much dirty linen thrown around.
It's incredible how people surface when an issue such as this comes to light, my concern still remains that 'bandaid' solutions are short term only and only mask the problem into the future.
At least those who attended are now aware of the concerns, if something good comes from it, that must be a positive.
Without being cynical, we'll wait and see what comes of the 'more hands on deck' scenario and how long that lasts, any help is better than no help.

It's a meeting about a "takeover"
Will the Rams go to the PAEC and apply to use Kilburn oval on Sundays to enable their kids to play footy. It appears they have not enough room for all the kids at Ram Park so need another oval and heard nothing happens at Kilburn on Sunday.

Sunday's meeting had nothing to do with that.
Kilburn have, however, been good enough to invite Gepps Cross Juniors to have a chat about about making their oval available for some Sunday games and, hopefully, a few Friday night games and training sessions. Space IS at a premium at Duncan Fraser with 20+ junior and senior teams training, plus cricket and softball, so any assistance Kilburn can give us would be appreciated and they could earn some good dollars with some Friday night or Sunday games. Hopefully any arrangement will be of great benefit to both clubs.

when youre broke and have no kids and little future as a club like Kilburn it makes sense to hire it out. at least they can put some coin in the bank. two clubs only two km apart and one is run professionally and the other like the Ashton Circus when it comes
to marketing there clubs. a once reasonable club is now a shambles and gx have gotten stronger and stronger at there expense

Pearcey, you should have been a politician. Always the calming influence with pearls of wisdom to go with it.
Must admit the Junior scene at Gepps Cross situated at Northgate is extremely healthy, all concerned are/have done a great job, well done to all.

Usernameandpassword, my you are a wealth of information on a Club you know nothing about. Kilburn is in a very comfortable financial position much to your obvious disappointment. Don't bag Clubs you know nothing about my friend. When Gepps Cross achieve what Kilburn have in a sporting not fiscal sense they can crow. The inability to get junior football at Kilburn is a social problem not a lack of desire. Unfortunately Kilburn has for years been a dumping ground for immigrants from both Africa aand the Middle East. The only other residents in Kilburn are aged persons whose families have moved to other areas to buy or build there own homes. Many of these ex Kilburn people are now the hub of other junior Footy programs due to their childs schooling and friendships in areas outside of Kilburn. If uninformed people like yourself knew how much the few Kilburn diehards have been striving to get juniors up again with NO financial assistance from any league Clubs or the SANFL, you may have a different opinion. Kilburn Will get juniors back and will always be a competitive Football Club. I would like to know your home Club, how long you have been there and what you have done for it apart from probably bag it like you did to a very proud Club. Watch the results this year.

Wonderful - just wonderful. A true inbred from a former very proud club with no money, no players and wont make the finals in 2009. All the recruits from last year have left. Not enough money left in the kitty. Eastern Park have said thanks very much Kilburn
Just for the record Gepps X or 95 percent of other clubs also dont get a kick back from a League club either.
You surely could not want anymore kick backs at Kilburn could you. New Clubrooms, New Lights, New Gym. Anything else you wnat to get for nothing. Sorry my tears are falling onto my violin - Clown. Cant imagine any club getting anything like what Kilburn have managed to suck out of the Governments and Councils. Sorry if no other clubs share your crocodile tears.
Keep enjoying A3 for another 3 or 4 years gunga din. then you can enjoy A4

You have proved yourself to be a very silly boy. So we have new clubrooms given to us by the government eh? We have clubrooms just like every other bloody footy club has. Do you think they all paid for their rooms themselves?
As many have people have said the gym is a community gym and is a shared facility like many others at the club.
You are the joke because you are not proud enough of yourself or your club to tell us who you are and what your role is. That doesn't really matter because we all know that you are a poster who has had several aliases on this site and continues to harp on the same old subjects.
Too bad we never let you come play for us.

[/quote]Too bad we never let you come play for us.
They are all leaving why would anyone want to play for you anyway. The Kilburn ferral society is the last place i would want to be during the winter, summer or any other season for that matter. Gee I am really dark about not being allowed to play for Kilburn. Think I am one of the lucky ones who does not make the move to ferral city.
Your club had a fair say in the fact that Eastern Park could not get a finals match last year due to the "Ferral Element". I would suggest that you would have more people in that category than Eastern Park could even dream of
No Club, No Juniors, No Hope, No Promise, No Money and living on memories. The memories have already faded my friend and you are now a laughing stock of the competition.

Isn't it great. Most people have a go at us for having too much money, now this clown is saying we don't have any. I'm confused.
We must have a talkative accountant anyway as everyone seems to know how much money we have!
Sorry Russ, you look silly.
