Re: BLCA 2016-17
Mate the T20 has been a shit show the whole season
We are keen to play maybe next Sunday morning 26/3 prior to our presto night
Another example of the absolute incompetence of those in charge

Re: BLCA 2016-17
Any truth to the rumour that the A1 reserves grade will be returning for the 2023/24 season?
Would seem to be the logical choice as the gap between top and bottom in the A2’s appears too great. Also a 7, 6 and 6 team competition across 3 grades would work a lot better than a 10 and a 9 team competition across 2 grades IMO

Has been a consultation with the clubs
Keep the current
8 team competitions
6 team competitions
The decision of the committee will likely rest on where lights pass and Sandy Creek finished so they don’t get relegated, every other decision seems to be influenced by what suits these clubs best

Re: BLCA 2016-17
looking at the past years results Sandy has never been near the relegation Zone. Not sure why you think they have much of a say!

Re: BLCA 2016-17
I reckon the league could do worse than to listen to the likes of Sandy Creek and Angaston who have been at the top of the tree in both Seniors and juniors for a long time now and also Greenock who have done juniors very well which is slowly transferring to senior success.
The squeaky wheels of the "woe is me" clubs should be ignored.

Re: BLCA 2016-17
Did they end up going with 8 team or 6 team divisions?

A2-8
A3-7
Thats at least 9 2 day teams gone since their genius idea to move to 10 teams in A1 and play all two day cricket in the 2 day grades.
They are playing each team once in a two day game and 4 teams in a one day game.
A4-10
A5-12
Nuri will be the relegated team, i will be surprised if they avoid an outright loss in any of their 2day games. Talk they may have only one team, currently nominated an A5 but may not fill it. In real big trouble

Only went with the 10 team competition so light pass could stay relevant and vindicate them spending money on south Gawler and para districts rejects

Re: BLCA 2016-17
there was a 317no in the A5s today, huge effort in any grade in 40 overs.
the kid should be playing 1s, hope he does next year. im hearing he was a lad who lost all love of the game after a year at the jets, hopefully his love has come back after today and he goes on to much bigger things next year

After a bit of research i believe this to be a new record for the whole association.daysofourlives wrote:there was a 317no in the A5s today, huge effort in any grade in 40 overs.

I have found an A Grade record of 314no by V H Hese Freeling vs Tanunda back in 1907/08, the next best in A Grade of 292 by Ross Hurn of Angaston.
I believe the lower grade record was around 296 by a Jason Cambourne in the 90s
