Re: Horse Racing Tips & Discussion
In Little Indians race I think the 5 looks a good chance but on a heavy 10 anything can happen

Re: Horse Racing Tips & Discussion
Hi Guys,
I know this is the Horse Racing Thread but, I've noticed a couple of anomalies with betting on Euro 2016:
On Sportsbet you can back the outright winner or 2 places (e/way) pays 1/3 the odds, but it is better to back for a win & to make the final:
If you back Belgium for example, they are $5 outright the win, e/way $1.66 the place.
But if you back them the win only plus to make the final, you get $2.20
Here are the prices for those who are realistic winners &/or finalists
Germany $4.50 & $1.49 ... $3.10 to make final
Spain $7.50 & $2.48 ... $5 to make final
France $5 & $1.66 ... $2.88 to make final
Belgium $5 & $1.66 ... $2.20 to make final
Portugal $7.50 & $2.48 ... $2.88 to make final
England $10 & $3.33 ... $5.50 to make final
Italy $17 & $5.61 ... $11 to make final
I backed Portugal @ $21, Italy @ $19 & Belgium @$11 before the start of the Competition - personally I think Germany are the Team to beat but always too short for me - as you know I like 'value'. That said, $3.10 to make the Final is VERY bet worthy IMHO. Belgium should beat Wales in the 1/4s, so the $2.20 to reach the Final is a good bet too from here.
If you like Spain, Italy or England - you'll need to get on quickly to get these prices to make the Final. Spain is VERY good value @ 4/1.
THE bet is Italy (although their draw is tough) - if they can get past Spain, they face the Germans in the 1/4s.
If you split your bets, working on a % return, you could back all 3 of them to make the Final.
$80 in total, looking for a 63% return on investment: $12 on Italy @ $11... $26 on Spain @ $5... $42 on Germany @ 3.10 ... Outlay $80, Return $130, Profit $50 (63%)

Re: Horse Racing Tips & Discussion
If you ever think about getting involved in this Syndication, just don't.
Still up there old tricks. Did something very similar to us, before telling one group of owners 1 thing and the others something else, not aware we all knew each other. Then when we payed to have the horse transferred, arrived in such poor quality it, the SA trainer mentioned it was almost Impossible for it to have been in work when they said. Not to mention numerous other things like training fees for a top trainer, only for it to be getting work from a less prominent trainer for the same costs etc.
To me, this is borderline scamming. I'm sure they aren't the only ones.
Hello
Thanks to everyone who enquired regarding the Written Tycoon purchased last week at the Great Southern Sale. The response was unprecedented in our history as a Syndicator and all shares have been placed.
There are a couple of updates we need to bring to everyone's attention -
The Sales Catalogued listed the horse as a Colt but after a query from one of our keen-eyed enquirers, Mitch has confirmed that the horse is a GELDING. The state of its sex obviously had no impact on whether we were going to buy or not and in fact it probably saves all owners a cost in the future in already having had the operation.
The actual date of foaling is 14.09.13. That renders the horse ineligible for SuperVobis although we do have RVL checking it out for us at present.
If either of the above factors have the effect of any new owner not wanting to proceed, we completely understand and all we require is your confirmation by return so we can offer the share to the next person waiting in line. Apologies for any inconvenience.
Regards,
Clanbrooke Racing

They were still calling ours a colt 12 months after it was a gelded.
Never again with this mob. Can't believe 4-5 years on and they are still doing it

Reckon it was 6 lengths last at one point in a 1200m? race. Came so quick and wide the caller nearly missed it and only actually mentioned it when it hit the lead

Re: Horse Racing Tips & Discussion
I've been watching races for 30 years & I can't recall too many horses being tailed off 6-8 lengths and then picking them up & winning so easily over 1200 metres.
There was no money for it either in Australia ($29 on Ubet, $16 NSW)
Wonder what it paid on track or if any corporates were hit?
