Valente 6/58!
Think he took 7/58, Cam is absolute guru at this level.
Kensy lost 7/28, been their weakness the last four games.
21 overs to bowl, crucial they get few wickets obviously.

Re: Grade Cricket
Nobes injured himself fielding, going to bat 7 apparently.
Had to open with Keen and he is out already.
Brings Pengelly in early, so this could be costly.

Did Valente get 7 in the semi too?
Shame he just doesn't seem to have the penetration at the next level. Needs to do a Ryan Harris and find 10km/hr from somewhere

Re: Grade Cricket
Can't see Adelaide winning now, 5/50 at Stumps with best three batters out and Nobes injured with a runner.

Re: Grade Cricket
That was quick
78 all out. Bit of a fizzer. Thought Adelaide would give it a shake
Will Valente get the medal in a losing team?

Alex Ross won the medal apparently, no disrespect to him, but what an absolute joke!!
He made 76, but both Valente or Opie deserved it more.
Why do umpires give more emphasis on runs, the old points system had 20 points for a wicket and one point for a run, so Valente worth 140!
Would have been happy with Opie if they wanted to go from the winning team.

Re: Grade Cricket
Anyone confirm if Jake Brown had a runner? Heard he did.
If he did, was it from the start of his innings, from ball one of match?

There was a 15 minute delay just after play started for Jake to receive treatment.Eagles2014 wrote:Anyone confirm if Jake Brown had a runner? Heard he did.

What are the rules on runners below First Class cricket?

260 runs for 20 wickets. Fair enough decision I reckon

Runners are allowed in Grade cricket still.
Need to be injured in the game, as Nobes was and used a runner.
With Jake Brown going into the game with a hamstring injury, he would not have been able to start with a runner.
Was it a new injury? Was he playing funny buggers? Sounds bit strange the whole thing.

Just read on their website he tore a calf muscle, obviously the old body was falling to pieces after long season!

Re: Grade Cricket
Well done to the Browns, and all involved they have the best team all year
Would like to congratulate the Coach, great bloke, down to earth, exceptional knowledge of cricket and great educator of men
Is it time to consider someone like this for the Redbacks Job?

Much as it pains to say it, congratulations to the Browns on winning the top 3 Grades. Great to see Liam Scanlon make 99no in the C's, shame time didn't allow the hundredth run.

Amazing effort, definitely a powerhouse "Club" in the competition.
Their B's looked gone when Uni got within 7 runs till a LBW call went their way, changed the game.
Just shows how tough it is to win all three 1st Grade premierships in the one season, takes a special team!!
Adelaide had Raphael and Neate retire after game, big hole in their team, maybe that was their chance for flag gone?
