The only way the Crows might get a trade from Geelong is if Danger cannot accept leaving Adelaide for nothing and requests a trade otherwise he will stay at Adelaide, which is highly unlikely.

Im still not sure its down to 2 only.
Collingwood are rumoured to have a 1.4m x 5 year deal being worked on and the Hawks have quite a bit of room to manouvre with a big back ended contract, wouldnt be surprised if he ends up at either

The Hawks have been very quiet on this but I still think they are in with a chance.

I've always considered Hawthorn and Collingwood as the front runners for Danger's signature if he doesn't sign on at the Crows. Both in great spots for tilts at the flag in the coming years and could both over him a nice pay packet.

Danger out, Aish in?

The only way that would happen is if you were able to force the Hawks or pies to trade rather than a free agency grab. Which is possible. The crows could always threaten to match the deal in order to get the teams to the trade table.
Or we send our compo pick to Brisbane for him
Well Benny I don't think it will be enough but I think it's a starting point.

Either way it will be interesting to see how Fagan handles this. Trigg era they would of rolled out the "we are disappointed" line and moved on...I am hoping Fagan has more balls and has a go at keeping him

I see even though you haven't posted for quite some time your stupidity hasn't changed. Valid question by UK.

And I agree with him. What are the differences?

Skill level coming from defence is poor. Having an entire back 6 with no one playing 100 games yet to me causes a lack of composure and too many ambitious blokes trying to be too cute with skills execution. I think Walsh is good but we need to do some work with our list.

You're right they aren't far away. If we don't keep Dangerfield I see it as a massive opportunity to pick up other players who provide an even spread across the group. The club would honestly know by know what his plans are and would already have targets in mind.

To answer the question above I think the Crows are a better side under Walsh structurally, the skills is what is killing them. Footy is changing again from where it was 5-6 years ago with the running game. Now with the press not only do you have to run but you need to hit targets. Hawthorns foot skills are sensational. If you can't kick the footy efficiently under pressure you don't get a game for Hawthorn.

its pretty clear our defence is the problem, though most of us identified that pre season so its hardly a surprise. So many times Hawthorn got cheap goals out the back, they just worked a bit harder on the rebound and caught us out of position when we turned it over.

Having said that, even though our defence is pretty inexperienced, I like where it is heading. Kelly, Lever, Laird, Brown, Talia, Jaensch will be a very good backline when they all have some more games under their belt.

yeah agree with this.

Our structures this year have been great, and it has kept us in games that we would have been blown away in the past - Thursday night was a decent example. Thought Hawthorn were better all over the ground but we were still right in it until they kicked away in the last. And with a bit more composure going forward we almost could have pinched that, even though we probably didnt have any right to.

Our skills have definitely been poor, though thats something that even a coach cant change overnight. He has put smith up around the ball more often, and also given games to grigg, who are our two best ball users through the midfield. If we had Douglas and Crouch for the whole year as well I think it would have made a difference. Jaensch also hurts in that regard as he would be the best ball user in the back half.

Hard to a good defensive unit when the midfielders disposal is woeful at times.

Laird is an absolute jet. Didn't see him getting this good. Hopefully he keeps getting better too as I honestly have no idea what his ceiling is.
