Re: Coronavirus (Covid19)
the good news is it looks like China, South Korea & Iran are getting on top of things.
The experts predicted we in Australia will probably record around the 50,000 mark,
it doesn't matter how many people get it,
it's how many get over it.

Why are people on the dole getting even more money
I get those who have lost jobs should get support but long term dole reciepitants don’t need it, we should be staying home so they have no need for it

If work closes down of their own choice you still get paid as normal.Jim05 wrote:Geez, work wants to make us take 4 weeks unpaid leave, might have to check this Newstart thingy out
If you want to go quickly, go alone.
If you want to go far, go together.

Apparently not so true.Booney wrote:If work closes down of their own choice you still get paid as normal.Jim05 wrote:Geez, work wants to make us take 4 weeks unpaid leave, might have to check this Newstart thingy out
Amongst every thing else apparently the government have snuck in a ‘stand down’ law that allows businesses to stand down permenant staff on a temporary basis without having to pay.
Apparently it was introduced to protect businesses through this period.

Ps a heap of people were stood down at FFSA, SACA and Basketball SA on Friday.

Was meant to go to Brisbane tomorrow for work for a night but have just cancelled that
I’m fortunate enough to be able to work from home, just hoping we don’t shut down all together as it will kill the business

The million job loss figure that is getting spouted doesn’t seem so ridiculous.

We seem to have a low mortality rate so far compared to a few other countries, so good news there.gazzamagoo wrote:the good news is it looks like China, South Korea & Iran are getting on top of things.

Yep, it’s going to be a very tough time for a lot of people going forward. I know for sure this can cripple my work if we shut down and we turnover $10-15 mill per year. Can only imagine all the smaller businesses that are going to shut down and amount of people that will lose their jobswhufc wrote:The more and more you hear about businesses not being able to survive it makes you start to wonder at what consequences is to muchbertiebeatle wrote:Was meant to go to Brisbane tomorrow for work for a night but have just cancelled that

What would even be the consequences of 1,000,000 Aussies losing their job.bertiebeatle wrote:Yep, it’s going to be a very tough time for a lot of people going forward. Re: Coronavirus (Covid19)
I'm not too fussed despite being a casual but worry for my co workers.
The way I look at it with the missus being a full time worker who can work from home, the fact I get a superannuation pension every fortnight and I wont be able to spend my disposable income at pubs Ill be fine.
Might be tempted to pick up some work at a BWS, Dan Murphys or Woolies to kill some time and save some $.
