Now the bowling is looking light on without Cummins and Hazelwood.

Alot of pressure on the batters. Labuschagne as one of the few inform batsmen just needs to play. Not sure how you leave out Renshaw either as a genuine opener and one that is in form both at state and odi international level. Who gets dropped is the tough question.

Could we see something out the box with both Green and Webster playing as the combined third pacemen.

1. Khawaja
2. Renshaw
3. Labuschagne
4. Smith
5. Head
6. Green
7. Carey
8. Webster
9. Starc
10. Lyon
11. Boland

No chance when he's not in the squad
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

.... also no chance of Webster being the third seamer. If Hazlewood doesn't play Doggett has to, but I reckon Hazlewood will be fine.

Yeah, Josh going to be fine is the suggestion now, so they'll play him, but wouldn't surprise me if they are still concerned about his ability to get through the test, so convince themselves to play both all-rounders as well as the 4 bowlers.
That would possibly squeeze out Weatherald which I don't like at all. I think our batting is thin already.

I can see a world where Lyon is left out and they play Green & Webster for the first test. Webster can bowl some off spin if needed but spin wasn’t a factor last year in Perth.

Khawaja
Weatherald
Labuschagne
Smith
Head
Green
Webster
Carey
Starc
Boland
Hazlewood

x3, its a no brainer and common sense so this will definitely not happen. Lyon is no walk up start in any Test match anymore

^article mainly reheats some of the Bazball rubbish from the England camp in 2023 but worth sharing for a laugh. Gee they are flogs.

How many runs would that team make? Most out of form with the bat.
Agreed, that's why I want the extra batting.
All our fears coming true.
