You don't rate Salisbury? On their ground, I think they'll be too quick and fit for EP.

They are a good unit.

Looking like EP vs Sal Grand final way in front of others sides
EP will win return round at home late in the year but I think Salisbury to quick ,and young for aging EP when it counts.
Thoughts

A long season and a lot of water to go under the bridge yet. Would be silly to write off Fitzroy or an improving Ingle Farm.

Units beat Houghton who beat St Pauls who beat Ingle Farm.. therefore Units > Ingle Farm.

Ingle Farm lost to Salisbury by 12 points who beat Eastern Park by 14 points... therefore Units > Eastern Park.

Central United for the flag. 8)

Thought it was generally ok compared to other weeks, just some pockets out of vision as they set up too deep in grandstand i think

Wasn’t the game everyone expected it to be anyway mate, pretty average skills from both sides all day.. Salisbury definitely spread better and worked harder! You would have witnessed the umpires absolutely FU***** EP though which isn’t a surprise! Few EP lads getting injured real early hurt, think we even finished off the game with 17 players.. Pretty shit day all round but we took plenty from it and think a few of the lads have come back crashing down to earth which is good

Yeah was still a decent watch, give me local footy over the AFL any day haha.

Just observations and thoughts and no disrespect to anyone.....

-As you said Salisbury spread really well especially off half back, made the EP forward line work hard. When the forwards didn't work hard Salisbury were able to rebound effectively.
-Thought the EP forwards got a bit lost on the big oval, played a half a kick away from probably where they should have been especially when EP had the ball in their defensive 50, almost looked the EP forwards were playing the traditional HF line. They had to push up higher imo.

Other than that it was a tight contest with both teams getting a few favourable match ups in their forward lines Hard to tell on the video but Gameau looks a big unit. Both teams will still be confident they can do the job at the business end of the season. EP wont be losing any sleep and Salisbury wont be printing any t-shirts.

Really liked the move of James O'Loughlin into the ruck. Thought he was decent, in particular around the ground where he could use his body well and then almost be a fifth mid at ground level.

Both teams will have fingers crossed for the grand final destination hoping the size of the oval suits them. An advantage to EP is you could all but rule out either Elizabeth Oval (or whatever it's called these days as i doubt they will have two local sides play there) or Salisbury Oval two of the bigger ones getting around. I'm guessing however it won't be the smaller parade as that seems to have been saved for the higher divisions in previous year (or am i just making that up in my head haha)

D6 GF will be at Kenilworth.

Gameau is a unit.

Bruno has played ruck plenty over the years.

Could the GF be at Campbelltown? Save Kenilworth for Div 5.

People asking Bedge (Of all people) where the GF’s are scheduled at the beginning of June. I’ve dead set seen it all now…

Don't know about everyone else, but feels like the 1st 8 rounds have flown by! Can't believe we are at the long weekend already.

Obviously Salisbury + Eastern Park the sides to beat, but don't believe the rest are as far behind as some may think. The middle of the ladder is proving very interesting - double chance spot has heated up with Farmers dropping one to St Pauls, who with Rosewater are also now only a game behind.

The battle for 4th and 5th is also very tight - Houghton in 7th is only a game outside, whilst percentage splits the St Pauls and Rosies.

Units win on the weekend hasn't copped enough credit - it's a massive result! Whilst it's only their second win, it done put them up even with Lutheran, and only a game behind Houghton - avoiding relegation is a genuine chance.

Elizabeth struggling, but I still stand by my belief they'll claim a couple of scalps by the end of the season.

Lot of great goal kickers, 3 players 50+ and another 2 with 40+ - not to underplay the achievements Rosenthal, Knapp, Ellis, Martin all cashed in against a poor Elizabeth early in the season, so not sure we will see their 1st half of the season heroics replicated. Mansell most impressive with 47 from his 7 games and didn't play against Elizabeth where i'm sure he would've bagged out.

Medal count will be interesting end of the year - I've got Knapp as the favourite right now with Brad Prior, Dylan Richardson and Brandon Rigney in the group behind them. Riley Henriks is a handy sort too, and with his leg speed is likely to catch some attention.

2025 in D6 is shaping up as a pretty even division - you'd expect BOS and WC to drop down (and likely regain cattle), and likely that Para Hills + Sullies come up.

What's the crowd forecast for the circus tonight?
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

If you want to go far, go together.

Matty Glenn been instrumental while playing for the demons and arguably the best ball user at the club.

Pj Diedrichsen easily the best footballer at EP, he’s the captain of the footy club and a 5x A grade best and fairest winner, anyone that knows him knows his worth around the place both on and off the field.

Shattering for the footy club, both of the boys and everyone else throwing on a guernsey for the demons.

Diedrichsen named tomorrow, good luck to him but that is quick recovery from an ACL

Not sure why he’s named but he 100% isn’t playing.. He’s in bali for a start and his surgery is booked in for next week! Think they’ve just put him down waiting to see if a clearance for another player goes through
