A NSW man accused of having sex with a golden retriever multiple times among more than 200 other offences has had his case briefly mentioned in court.

Bangalow man Dean Anthony Sellenthin, 43, is charged with a slew of sexual offences, including stalking, possessing and producing child exploitation material, indecently assaulting a person with a disability and stealing women’s underwear.

His alleged offending occurred between 2011 and 2017, according to court documents.

Sellenthin is alleged to have committed acts of bestiality on at least two different dogs.

Other allegations include producing child abuse material in areas surrounding the northern NSW tourist hub of Byron Bay.

On a number of occasions he is alleged to have stolen up to 48 pairs of women’s and children’s swimwear, and underwear from properties in the region.

At Tweed Heads Local Court on Wednesday, Sellenthin’s defence lawyer asked for the matter to be adjourned for committal with his appearance excused.

Magistrate Geoff Dunlevy adjourned the matter to April 17 and excused Sellenthin from appearing.

Sellenthin is in custody on remand following his arrest in 2017.

A Brisbane store manager has avoided jail after he filmed himself having sex with his family dog before sending the footage to his partner.

The Sunshine Coast Daily reported that Craig David Stern pleaded guilty to the bestiality charge in the Brisbane District Court on Wednesday.

Stern forced his family’s dog, a 10-year-old bull mastiff called Chilly George, to penetrate him on Christmas Eve in 2016.

He filmed the abuse and sent the footage to his girlfriend, who reportedly gave the material to police when they broke up a year later.

Stern had since moved to Armidale in New South Wales.

Judge William Everson said Stern had a “fetish” for bestiality, but he would not send him to jail.

He noted Stern had lost friends due to his offending and that he was likely to lose his job.

He was placed on a three-year probation order.

“The extent to which you are expressing yourself sexually through an inappropriate fetish in my view warrants a lengthy probation order to address the underlying causes of your offending,” Judge Everson said.

Stern must return to live in Queensland, where he must also attend counselling and other behaviour change and psychiatric programs.

I'm not sure kids need to be exposed to something that many adults find confusing at that age. Some kids won't even get it, some will, as you note, just think it's dress ups, some, like me, will be as confused as ****.

I certainly get where you are coming from. Zero argument.
My point of view is, what harm can it do? As I said as long as it’s done well and he doesnt look like absolute trash. I don’t have an issue and I dare say young kids won’t even know.
With how the worlds changing my girls are going to grow up in a very different world then mine or yours, accepting people and lifestyles has become more of an issue (not saying you aren’t accepting at all). Geez they are growing up in a time when a child can be born and can be gender neutral (which is ridiculous). So I see this instance as an opportunity to open their mind (again, hopefully in a good way) and be more accepting of people and their different ways of life. Whether it be sexuality, religion, race or what clothes they dress up in
