Re: MLB
Wonder how the Indians feel... they'd be thinking they'd do a better job methinks.
There's a run in it now (Sox) bottom of the eighth. Still in clean sweep position.

Re: MLB
Much prefer an AFL Grand Final presentation, to what they do for MLB. Admittedly they are visiting an opposition park, but done entirely for tv and excludes supporters altogether.
Roger Woodcock -- 602 goals from a forward flank makes you a legend.

Geez..that 86 years went quick!

If one person does it, it's insanity. If millions do it, it's religion.

Re: MLB
Good to see one of our former major leaguer's get a mention on sportscentre this morning in the run up to Alex Rodriguez' 600th career home run.
Apparently his 250th came off Luke Prokopec.

Re: MLB
Just thought I'd bring up this old thread to say - Did anyone see a few days ago when Texas Rangers star Josh Hamilton threw a ball that had already been declared foul, up in to the stands for a fan to catch and then he (the fan) overbalanced once he'd caught the ball, flipped over the railing and fell six metres head first onto concrete and died!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hamilton is said to be distraught.

All happened in front of his 6yo son too... http://sports.espn.go.com/dallas/mlb/ne ... BHeadlines
Apparently there's been a surprisingly high number of deaths at baseball games over the years.
Might find this review (and the book itself) interesting...

Nah not this year.
Been watching a fair bit lately, being a Yankees man as much as it hurts to say it i have been very impressed by the Red Sox so far this season, i thought they might of tapered off a little.
Phillies a bit of a surprise packet aswell

Re: MLB
Derek Jeter rung up hit no. 3000 to make him only the 28th all time to do so.
An interesting game about a month ago where a pitcher had a perfect game going and needing only one out in the 9th to achieve it, a ground ball was played in the infield to 1st where the runner appeared to be clearly out live (replay showed he was out by step and a half) and the umpire called it safe!!!!!! Needless to say the manager came out and went berserk.
Pittsburgh Pirates doing a great job with a payroll that is probably less than what Rodriguez makes in a year.
Schimma, if you're watching, Ichiro Suzuki is up to 2345 hits which means he'll have at least 2400 by season's end so it will be interesting to see if he gets a new contract at the end of 2012 in his remarkable run to possibly reaching 3000.

The indians are in the same place as pitsburgh as well. sucks to support a low market team but its great when you actually beat the yankees or the red sox. i was living the tribe dream for the first 6 weeks of the year. and they are still hanging in there.
As for ichrio i have him in my fantasy side. have been close to trading or just getting rid of him. he has not had the best start to the year but has started to turn it around. For him to get 3,000 he will need to play another 3 years at least.
We're in hell right now gentlemen. Believe me. And we can stay here, get the shit kicked out of us, or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb outta hell... one inch at a time.
