Both Port and Central were sloppy and the game barely got out of 2nd gear I thought. Central had a lot of their prime movers in the stands so that would be one reason behind the big margin. They also fell down completely across half forward. Port crowded their forward line well and rebounded strongly.

is it just me or is anyone else a wee bit alarmed with the ease in which crows/power have beaten the local sides in trial matches?

crows lost

centrals fielded their reserves

no not alarmed, actually hoping they get some false sense of security from the wins they get

Might have to get used to your reserves, cause centrals won't get much better than what was on the park today.

Maybe Symes, goodrem, Williams, McIntyre, Jenner, thomas (for a full game) won't make a difference, maybe they will.

Good to see South posting some decent scores, albeit in trial games. Our forward line last season was diabolical.

Thats not what alarms me. It's the fact that it depends on how well their A grade is travelling (injuries/form) that worries me. One week they might win by 80 pts, the next get beaten by 80pts.

Why would any long time SANFL club supporter with any sense go and waste their time and watch a AFL team play.

There seems to be a lot of blind mullets out their.

Ripper write up of the Eagles/ Cows game in the paper today. Sounds like the Eagles were lucky to get as close as they did. :(

Im prepared to call you Port Magpies if you are prepared to play within our salary cap, until then you ARE Port Power Reserves

I'm really looking forward to hearing plenty of that sort of talk at the Parade in Round 1. Give me as many opportunities to remind you and yours that my club has a team playing in the National competition, while yours never will.

Spot on the Eagles weren't out there if you can believe that reporting by Bednall. I thought the Crows must have won by 100 points. Oh well we will have to get used to the one sided reporting all year now RIP SANFL
