Please, you get kissed on the dick with Friday night games that you don't deserve, on a positive note it saves me 3-5 beers each week as I'm asleep by half time, you play the likes of Collingwood, Essendon and Richmond at the G, more than once, I doubt you get many Sunday twilight games against the Gold Coast, nor play at lunch time Easter Sunday.

The "fix"ture all but assures the average crowds are sound for Carlton despite the shit brand of football they have played for years now, get some ordinary time slots and that rabble are playing in front of AFLW crowds.

Get a bucket of shooters and play bottoms up every time the opposition scores, $22 for 16 at most Sip'n'Save's atm...................just a thought.

The buttons on my shirt are under the most pressure. The departure of active wear girl, will compromise the quality of my meat, but not the rib eyes!

Sounds like your meat cops a workout when she's around.

Interesting Wubsy again has a thing with the Eagles. I reckon with Sydney’s ageing players they will slide. Kennedy, Parker, Jack aren’t getting any younger

Docherty will be a big loss but most players are injury free and ready for round 1. Just need to get more game time into the youngsters.

Most under pressure

1. Hinkley - Port have done nothing since 2014
2. Essendon - lot of hype for a team that hasn’t won a final for 15 years
3. Crows - after last years debacle
4. GWS - are they on the slide
5. Lyon - Freo are stagnant and his time is probably up

docherty didnt play last year. surely a half back flanker isnt going to make that much difference

it's not a west coast dig, it's who ever played in the GF crack. If that was the swans, i'd say the same thing...

Jack is the only one of those 3 who is cooked. Kennedy is one of the best mids in the comp and Parker when fit (has had an injury free preseason, which is rare) is a dead set gun... We have probably one of the youngest lists in the comp

Yes but playing the same midfield everyweek will catch up to you. look at Hannebury his body is smashed. Kennedy and Parker are guns but history says the way they play it will eventually get to you and it will be interesting to see how they go this year.

i think our mids will be rotated alot more this year, with Mills, heeney and llyod getting chucked in... plus a couple more...

Mildly successful recruiting spree, based on what? They haven’t played a game yet!
What happened on that houseboat, mate?

The recruiting spree was high profile, not who you got, North made no bones about flashing the cash around, they missed out on several players they had a public crack at. It was the talk of the end of season period, North are after anyone whose available, "high profile".

Mildly successful, you got a few but missed out on Gaff and Shiel despite going all in on them with huge offers. So you picked up four free agents but didn't land the big fish you were wanting, "mildly successful".

See?

All in on Shiel???? We never even chased him!

You're right, I should have said Martin, Kelly, De Goey or Heeney that said "Thanks, but no thanks" and not Shiel.

That better?

1. Geelong- opted to recruit mature players in the hope of instant success, they would want to win a flag in the next two years or their next could be many years away.

2. Richmond- dominant side the last 2 years for 1 flag, dominant year for 3 years and only one flag doesn’t read to well.

3. Tex Walker- demoted to joint captain, questions over his form and leadership. His very one dimensial and Crows have some decent other options.

4. Jesse Hogan- could be watching his old team win a premiership, if that happens he would want to be performing in a team hopefully performing better than in recent years.

5. Ken Hinkley- for all the ‘promise’ he needs to deliver. Missed finals and Port will find a way to pay out his contract.

Adelaide for all they had been through hadn’t put many a foot wrong for 3-4 years since the appointment of Fagan. Since GF day 2017 under Pykes watch a lot went to shit and quickly. Knowing Adelaides history, if Pyle misses finals this year he’ll be out the door. For me he is very much under pressure and rightly so.

Likewise;

Scott @Geelong - chose to top up two years ago and are going downward IMO.
Hinkley @Port - ditto.
Richardson - he'll be gone by seasons end. Eddie Mcguire says the AFL gave them 19mill last year. For the Saints to have another bad year might cost them nearly a mill to payout his contract but it will still save them money in the long run. They've made some interesting choices at the draft table, Hannebury and Carlisle in particular. Ratten to take over as caretaker.
Shiel, McGovern, Hogan, Hannebury - chose to move and the spotlight will always be on them
Walsh - just cos he's a no 1 draft pick. The expectation will be enormous.

In Hannebery’s defence, he didn’t choose to move.

That would cost a bit wouldn't it? Has 3 or 4 years on a contract?
