Cna ppl actually confirm Kaesler is signed and sealed at Hahndorf? He apparently is still in negs with the Roosters and being interviewed by other clubs (sadly not mine)

Rankine from Modbury (via Gaza) offered $400 to sign at Blackwood, didn't think they had that kind of money?

As is his brother Brendon who played Div. 3 amateurs both 6' 4" plus.

Brendon will be a very handy recruit that you will find will dominate as a key position backmen. This boy can seriously play. Big lost to eastern park

With a new umpires Coach appointed next season, will be interesting if some of the old boys (Clarke, Plummer, MacDonald, Edwards etc, etc) pull the pin now that Trev Sawtell is gone. Don't want to see a situation, where Clubs have to supply umpires for 'A' grade as well as the magoos. Hopefully the New Umpires Coach can bring some cattle, and it would be fantastic again to have neutral umpires for 'B' grade.

One player has signed so far apparently, he's from Reynella. Cant recall his name but he is a midfielder.

At this stage I believe all players from this year (*maybe not Harey?) will be playing at IB in '08 :D

Mick Taylor is the new umpires coach I believe. Did a very good job in the SFL and very good umpire himself. No doubt will bring up some of the umpires with him. Believe thats part of the pre requisites in getting the job.

Would be a sorry day if that ever had to be resorted to.

Will Harey be a big loss for Ironbank? Good player, yes, great bloke, yes, but didn't he tend to have a few descipline issues on the field- at least from what I saw he did. Not a great example for the young guns out at IB. i'm sure he'll be a good coach though

from the mt.barker courier 29/11/07

Hahndorf's playing stocks have been boosted for next season's Hills Football League campaign with the addition of two further players fresh out of SANFL ranks. Norwood ruckman Tim Nicholas and North Adelaide onballer Tate Kaesler, a family name synonymous with the Hahndorf Magpies, have signed with the club. Kaesler will return to his original football home after playing stints with Sturt and the Roosters. News of the signings follows hot on the heels of the return of past dual Mail Medallist Matthew Cooper, who will also return to the Magpies after a playing career at Sturt and Woodville-West Torrens.

Meanwhile playing coach Scott Sutherland will again spearhead Uraidla Districts campaign in next year's Hills Football League competition. Rumors had linked Sutherland's name to a coaching role with amateur league club Broadview. "It is not the case," said Sutherland, who coached the Demons to the 2005 Central Division premiership. "I am very happy at Uraidla ... next year will be my fourth year with the club. "I don't see any reason to coach and play anywhere else."

Do you know if Owen has a challenger for the leadership Magpie?

Why would anyone want to go to Flaggies! They've lost their coach that seemed to be making some changes for the better, now they've lost some quality players from a pretty ordinary side anyway. At best Flaggies might finish top of the bottom eight and they'll be the receiver of some heavy thumpings by the top four sides. Wouldn't be enjoyable football in a pretty unenjoyable SFL competition.

no i don't TC only going on what i saw in the courier:

Hills Football League president Owen Lamshed has become the target of a campaign designed to oust him from the league's top job. An email carrying the Torrens Valley Football Club's letterhead, has recently been circulated to affiliated clubs within the HFL. In the correspondence Torrens Valley president Bronte Simounds outlines his club's concerns "at the behavior of the president of the Hills Football Leaue, Mr Lamshed". "He has in our view, at various times behaved in a manner inappropriate
to his position and contrary to the constitution," Simounds states in the letter. Lamshed, is aware of the circulated email and suggested he is 'flabbergasted' by some of the accusations. With the Hills league annual general meeting to be held on Monday, December 3, through the email Simounds has asked the clubs to consider their voting rights.
Lamshed is up for re-election at the annual general meeting and has publicly stated that he is hopeful of being returned.

HAHA if you wrote down everything Saucey said while he was pissed it would make for some entertaining reading...
Considering I'm pissed with him few times a week and not heard anything I doubt its true.
I know two years ago he was playing for marion and lofty
Last yr he was playing for Lofty and someone down town
And this year he retired and " would never play football again "

So id take it with a grain of salt.... or a pint of beer

Heard Lobethal was having a meeting regarding the upcoming yr. Anyone hear the outcomes of it? They would have to be favourite for wooden spoon even with Birdwood in the comp. King Coad Hibberd Sziller all gone! other leaving and absolutely nothing coming through the ranks
