In B3

Concordia 49 vs Brahma Lodge 4/232

In A2

Concordia 124 vs Brahma 5/103

Any reason why a bloke who took six in the As last round gets dropped to the Bs to take seven and clean up Concordia for 49?

Cause no one likes Concordia and everyone's happy to see them lose?

Whilst no one like Concordia, here a grade played them to, haha

My understanding is the turf are keen to take a black and white view on permits this year.
If you qualify, you're in, if you don't, you'd need a damn good reason as to why you should be given one.

Got any examples of players you think will need a permit?

Smith from Hectorville springs to mind, and wright from Pembroke I think. Couple others ill have a look

Smith has currently played 3xA3 and 2xB3.
Assuming he plays B3 in Rd 9 then he will still require a permit to play A3 as he has played 50% or more in a higher grade.
Unless Hectorville make the finals in A3, in which case he'd be free to play based on continuous grades.
Hectorville are currently 5th in A3, with 4th placed SHOC currently playing 2nd placed SPOC, however Heccies look in trouble in their game up against top placed Reynella.
So assuming Heccies miss in A3, Smith will need a permit to play B3 finals.
Given it's line ball at 50:50, he'd be a chance to get one, especially given his performances this season haven't exactly set the world on fire.
I'd say he shouldn't get a permit as he hasn't met the criteria, however I can see him getting one.

Wright from Pembroke does not require a permit. Has played 4xB3 and 2xA1, even if he plays A1 in round 9, he's still got more than 50% in the lower grade so is free to play.

Cheers I was unsure on wright I think there are some more, so it's more then 50 % in the lower grade to qualify

Basically.
There are a couple of other rules as well but in short guys that meet that criteria will be there 90% of the time.

If they meet the criteria they would be free to play 100% of the time.

If they meet ALL criteria they are free to play.
If they meet the criteria of more than 50% in the lower grade then they aren't necessarily free to play.

By law C5 c ii reads player has played 50% or more games during the current season in a higher team or grade.
Black and white to me. Have you been knocked back for a player who met criteria in the past?

LRO, if you have played 50% or more in the higher grade you need a permit.
Just cause you have played more than 50% in the lower grade doesn't mean you are free to play. You also need to meet the other criteria.

Well there was a selection scandal with PAOC faking a switch
BL dropped their star bowler.
Woody Rec smashed 400 to all but secure a finals spot.
Payneham put on ~100 for the 10th wicket thanks to Wathers lasting 130 balls.
Goodwood's B's won on day 1 to make the finals.
Unley were 5/9 in their A2 clash with Pooraka, lost on day 1 as a result.
Old Scotch looking to avoid relegation are in a good possie against Flanders Uni.
While BL are doing it well over Concordia who now look set to join Flanders in the relegation spot.

was at the pulteney v woody rech game for the last couple of hours and it was an amazing display of batting from both century makers, got woody rechs out of trouble at 3/30 odd to put on 230 for the 4th wicket. chanceless 127 by i think it is Urbank (his team mates have given him the nickname of spermbank) was told that his last 5 innings before this hundred were 0, 0, 0, 0, 1no. Duffett hadn't made a century all year 201no and got his first one in style, no matter what the bowlers bowled to him he despatched it to the boundary. Pulteney good sports and clapped him off the ground but looked beaten.

first part of the day was at adelaide high v pembroke, ahos didnt looked interested at all already know they were relegated and batted like an A2 side, rash shots just throwing thier wickets away. pembroke capitalised on thier oppourtunities and can now push to finish off the year with an outright win.

Bored... Here is my A2 Team of the year in batting order.

R.Illuminato (Pooraka)
S.Stolcman (Pooraka)
J. Bailey (Pooraka)
R. Doolan (Unley)
J. Jarrett (Pooraka)
C.Mclean (Ingle Farm)
J. Carson (Ingle Farm)
J. Dunnicliff (woody South)
M. Travis (Pooraka)
G. Carey (Para Hills)
D.Miller (Walkerville)

J. McCarthy (Ingle Farm) 12th man

Congratulations to all those who made it, you get NOTHING for being in this team except the glory of having your name on the forum. Any others that anyone has??

I'd also be surprised if Illuminato/Stolcman and Bailey dont make the actualy team of the year, along with Carey. JJ would be knocking on the door too.

Pretty Stock standard i think for the year.

I've been hearing a few players at Modbury aren't happy with a few things in the club. Anyone know of anything?

Must be the fact that their coach single handedly won them the last two games to avoid relegation.

I've only heard second hand information, but mostly that players are very unhappy with the coach, some going as far as refusing to play A grade.
