Re: EPL Season 2015/2016
Watched the game this morning, pretty workmanlike performance, the game didnt reach any great heights but it was good to get a win.

Sounding like Jose has one hand on the United job or atleast that's what he is telling everyone. In an interview today he stated he had ruled out returning to Inter Milan as he has an agreement to take over the United job

Only thing holding that deal up is because he's their 2nd choice behind Mauricio Pochettino. Fingers crossed that Poch turns them down and Jose can have his job.

I'm happy with that, one is a proven winner the other is still on the rise. Don't reckon Poch is ready for a club like United

Agreed, he's more suited to building a side around young talent and selectively choosing good fits to a side both as players and characters as opposed to just getting a cheque book out and dealing with egos and buying success.

You do realise Spurs have spent as much as most?
Mourinho won a CL final with Porto on a budget 1/8th of what EPL clubs spend.
Whilst Leicester have bucked the trend this year so far with regards to money it's not going to become the norm and you definately have zero hope in the CL without spending big dollars in this era.
I rate Poch but United is a pretty difficult club to manage, the supporters and sponsors expect and demand success. You are also dealing with some big ego's and Jose has no problem pulling them into line and earning their respect

We're the only club in the EPL to not spend more money than we made from selling players in the last 12 months!

Re: EPL Season 2015/2016
Being competitive for mid sized clubs and pushing the supposed big clubs can be a regular thing in the PL if clubs are smart and build slowly. Recruit properly, don't pay stupid £££ for players and retain core basis of a competitive squad.
As a diehard Foxes fan I was / have been / still am amazed at our turn around and performance to date. Ok it is an unusual one off for this season but Leicester City FC solely owned by Thai Billionaires are well placed with new TV deal plus CL money to establish themselves as a permanent top 10 minimum PL club. Owners already have plans to add another 10K capacity to King Power which gives us 42,500 capacity.
Hopefully lots of upsides for clubs size of the LCFC in future.

For the bigger clubs now winning the league simply isn't enough. If you want to compete at CL level you have to spend what the Spanish and German clubs are. You then have a two fold affect where if you don't keep spending ridiculous sums of money the better players nick off to the continent like Bale, Ronaldo etc. This then weakens the league completely as the EPL makes its money from TV rights by having the big name players as draw cards. We have already seen the standard of the EPL drop significantly in the last few years as more decent footballers take the coin on offer elsewhere

Looks like the EPL could be won with the lowest amount of points in some years. How often has a club won the title with less than 75 points?
