Yep the First Class team got flogged, lets blame the amateurs trying to compete with the 'professionals'

They have batsmen making incorrect decisions at the crease and also horribly out of form. Bowling depth also seems to be an issue when a few injuries set in to the first choice players

What about Mark Cosgrove getting another shot at it, I know his form is not great but his experience at first class level. When he bats he can bat for a long period of time, at the moment we are lucky to bat any more than 50 overs per innings.

Why are the batsman making the incorrect decisions at the crease, because they don''t have to make them at district level, there are no excuses for guys like Head,Fergusson, Lehmann and Cooper to be continually making these wrong decisions, (perhaps a tad harsh on Head and Lehmann to an extent), we had nearly 2 days to go out and grind out 300 but dont seem capable of batting 50 0vers let alone 2 days, continual incorrect decisions at the crease as you put it is very worrying

Always thought it strange we don't pick Cosgrove anymore, we could really do with his experience.

That is the job of the High Performance department at SACA. They have coaching staff, psychologists and more importantly time to ensure they are maximising their potential.

First Grade Averages this Season

Tom Cooper 3 innings @ 73.5
Sam Raphael 9 innings @ 73.17
Adam Zampa 1 inning @ 69
Cameron Valente 4 innings @ 55.33

No Ferguson, Head or Lehmann in the top 50 averages for this season so far

Callum Ferguson yet to play a club game this year?
Travis Head the same?
Jake Lehamann 3 innings @ 14.33

Not committed to SACA as he now takes a wage from County Club and they have decided to invest on someone else

We batted 92 overs between 2 innings, just pathetic.

Have picked overseas players before, so they are cutting of there nose to spite there face. What about Brad Davis from Sturt he seems to make a lot of runs, I know he is a Keeper but could he play just as a Batsman?? would he be up to the next level?

Geez Louise! That is horrific

A wicket every 4 and a half overs.

IMHO the standard of Adelaide grade cricket is far too low.
My idea is to reduce the A grade to 8 teams,
this should grow some genuine state players!
We continue to under perform as usual.
Just my idea.

Certainly not the only person with that thought.

The problem is the district clubs show a lot of resistance to reducing the number of teams, and as a result we are now diluting the competition further by introducing a 14th team!

I get that clubs don't want to merge or fold.

SACA should create a new comp, inviting 8 teams to it. The other 5 will then naturally fold, or join other competitions (namely ATCA) if they want to still exist as a club.

Or, SACA could take it out of the clubs hands and give them two years to create a merger agreement with another club or you're out.

That's been pretty obvious for some time, hence the new format with the Mavericks etc.

I think they we're screwed legally.

Probz the only way they could try to filter the best players into less teams is have divisions and relegation systems, might work, might not.
