NZ in reply are 3/79. Trav gets Guptill caught at cover with the first delivery of his spell.

Another one to Trav, think he is going along way towards ending Maxwells ODI career

My brother and I were just saying the same thing. Fast becoming a better batting and now bowling option than Maxwell, his bowling ability for a conventional, genuine top 4/5 batsman (which Maxwell is not) makes him so handy.

I find Trav bowling at international level humorous. Almost 10 years ago when he started playing senior cricket he almost left his Grade club due to a perceived lack of opportunity for keeping....

Hahaha wow funny how things turn out later on in a career. Obviously being captain for SA bowling himself a fair bit has helped improve his bowling over the years. It's helped him get his foot in the door in regards to international cricket.

Reckon it's booked his ticket to the India test tour. Whether he plays or not I'm not sure

Agreed Benny, he's a big chance and almost a shoe-in if he scores runs consistently in the back half of the shield competition.

He could be the fifth bowling option behind Starc, Hazlewood, Lyon and O'Keefe for that tour. Maybe Mitch Marsh aswell if they go with that third seamer option.

You have Maxwell, Agar and Cameron White (I can't think of any others off the top of my head) who also play that middle order batsman/spin option so Head has to be the best option for that role.

I think they will either go okeefe+ marsh or third seamer and head.

But then again if you have two frontline spinners having a 5th bowler is less needed

For me he would be the perfect number and six and part time spinner in India.

I would honestly have a team that was structured like

Renshaw
Warner
Khawaja
Smith
Handscombe
Head
Neville (keeping to spin ability gets him over the line)
O'Keefe
Starc
Hazelwood
Lyon
