It seems that cautious Cook was at it again. Giving Angelo Matthews the singles to keep Herath on strike. Meanwhile Matthews scores runs and eventually so does Herath as he gains confidence. Then both batsmen are scoring runs. Sounds familiar.

In the first Test Cook batted too long and they missed out by one wicket and copped a draw.

Your probably right about his captaincy but I would think in modern cricket Cook's voice in deciding the exact point of declaring would be very limited.

I reckon the head coach, bowling coach and some stupid sport scientist would be influencing the deciscion based on when the bowlers will be ready.

Reading Clarkes diary he makes comment that alot of them deciscions now are a 'coaching team' deciscion rather than captains choice

Watched a bit of the game and it was a bit of a fuzzier. Gilly and Sewag got things off nicely until Sewag got knocked over. Then Saed Ajmal cleaned up the ROW middle order and Sachin had to bring on finch to set up the run chase. So Mickey Mouse.

Then we didn't get to watch Warney bowl and Sachin and Lara showed only glimpses of their greatness. Tuned in to watch the greats and got the Paul Collingwood show LOL.

Poor Dravid getting a gozza. He was a wall in his test career and probably only got bowled a few times... plays in a micky mouse game and one sneaks through first up

I think its a great idea to see the legends of yester year Lara, Tendulker, Dravid, Gilchrist, Warne, Lee, Sewag etc all play in the same game. Makes you realise you wont see them again and how good they actually were. Some of the records they have set wont be touched for a long time if ever

Mighy want to call them the english/others team. Currently they are 1/43 overnight with Ballance (Zimbabwe) and Robson (Aust - played u/19 for aust) at the crease. Im not kidding about Robson, born in nsw and his old man still works down at the SCG. His mother moved to England and there you go.

Mitchell Marsh made 211 & Sam Whiteman 174 for Australia A in the four-day game against India A in Brisbane.

I kept in touch with this game and watched all the highlights of each days play and aswell as Marsh and Whiteman's innings. They came together when Aus A were in a difficult position and battered wonderfully, their stroke play was brilliant to watch. Good to see from the young fellas.
