Being new to the juniors this year at SFL and reading the posts on this site about some clubs not having juniors etc etc i wondered if the junior success was a mirror image to the clubs A grade sides
What i did was add the premiership points of the U 14s and U 16s and this was the result
M/VALE 32
BRIGHTON 30
NOARLUNGA 30
COVE 26
FLAGSTAFF 26
H/VALLEY 22
REYNELLA 18
C/BEACH 10
MARION 8
PORTIES 6
HACKHAM 6
ALDINGA 2
Any thoughts on the comparison with the A grade table

It all comes down to juniors. Start from the bottom and work your way up. Most successful clubs have junior programs in place. Hell in my view it all starts with Auskick.
Somewhere like the Brighton Bombers where they can have up to 100 Auskickers, means that they have a good pool of kids to feed into the U8's, and up it flows.
If a club has say only 15 Auskickers, it means when they get to the U8's age group they need to get more kids into the club, and that's not an easy thing. Generally once a kid is at a club, and the club treats them well, they'll stay and progress through the ranks.

Only having had a cursory look at the junior draw tonight, but I am apalled !!!
Seems to be an even more diabolical effort than some of the dreadful efforts that we've had to put up with over the years
Just from a Flaggies perspective ... how can we have 8 weeks between home games in the under 14's. 7 AWAY GAMES IN A ROW !!! Some of these are when our senior teams are at home, and I'm assuming the games have been programmed at clubs where there are not junior teams. UTTERLY WRONG !!!
If a club has all junior grades then their teams should (at least in most instances) get to play at home together.
Even our first game sees the U18s programmed at the ground of a club that has no Sat juniors, white the rest of our club are at home - so they get the benefit of an extra match, and our club has to run 1 match short and have the pain of having our team playing away from the rest of the club. How can that possibly be fair ???
I just don't understand what the programmers are thinking or where their priorities lie. With this sort of draw they are punishing the clubs that field all junior sides and rewarding the clubs that don't.
UTTER, UTTER RUBBISH

The catch up Round 1 on April 2nd is up to the clubs to re-organise if it doesn't suit
eg Flaggies already have trial organised so will need to liase with clubs about re-scheduling
Dazza send me an email, and between us we can contact the league with any genuine concerns.
I only basically checked for my emails tonight and posted it, but haven't had time to go thru it as had previous engagement.

Simple solution -2 DIVISIONS
All teams from last years top 8 fielded a full deck (eg14,16,18,B,A) except Edwardstown. Make it a prerequisite that you must field all teams (or at least 4) to participate in the top division.

OK everyone - the SFL Match Scheduler is a very nice man who has been willing to listen and review
I have it on very good authority that we can look forward to an amended juniors programme being released tomorrow, taking on board feedback from the clubs who contacted him
