I'm thinking of making it my next trip.
Has anyone been there?

Any recommendations?

Madagascar has been deferred.
I've lined up for the "Exotic Cats of India" tour led by Dr Carla Litchfield of Zoos SA.

sure does.
from memory Bandhavgarh National Park is where we went.
missed out on seeing any elephants, which was dissapointing.
Add some extra time and travel down to Kerala, they call it "gods own country" for a reason.

Having arranged to go to India rather than Madagascar this year, I went to the Travel Bug clinic in North Adelaide yesterday.
The Dr asked me haow my previous trip to South Africa had gone.
In passing, I told him the story of how I had finished up with an African Wildcat sitting on my lap being patted and fed cheese.
At that point he said that he didn't automatically recommend rabies vaccinations for India, but he thought I should have them.
This shot is a good likeness of my South African friend:
