Geez crows supporters jump off a champion quick!

 they are pretty good at it...

i still laugh about the tippett saga.

Yes they are very quick and happy to hammer Tippett and play the loyality card but at the moment they have a previous club champion on there way to anywhere that gets them the best deal.

It goes both ways really. But cows fans feel all there players put there life in the empire forever. But its a free for all and thats how the AFLPA want it.

Wouldn't call him a champion just yet. He is a solid player and a fan favourite.

When i first heard he had met with Melbourne i did not want to lose him as he does has elite skills, good SA boy etc

BUT, he is a free agent next year and is most likley going to go for more money and we would receive nothing. While i am a big fan of Bernie's he is inconsistent.

My sources tell me Melbourne's pick 20 is on the table for a deal involving either Vince or Lyons.

The big trade rumour going round about Beams is that he wants to go home and play with Clay.

Cant believe the love for Gumbleton here, and by other clubs. Jim- seriously has he shown anything ever? Obviously rated somehow but I've never seen even a hint of it.

I have seen Gumby play a few times. Some good games but injuries seem to always get him.

Has shown some promise at times. Id be happy to keep him but think he will continue to get limited opportunities with us. Doesnt help that our delivery to the forwards is disgraceful, would probably kick bags at a better club where he can take the 2nd or 3rd best defender.
His injury problems seem to be behind him, had a stack of injuries in his first few years and it was found that he had back problems which was causing most of the injuries. Had major surgery about 3 years ago and missed 14 months of football but it seems its done the trick as he has only missed a few games in last 2 years

Hopefully his body gets right and I can make my mind up properly!

Geez, that's a high price for Shaw, me thinks...

They were probably desperate to get someone with a half decent profile, after missing out on Franklin.

I expected him to sign with Geelong, obviously the contract GWS offered too good to refuse, perhaps looked after, after his playing career ends too.

You can't blame a bloke for wanting to set himself up for life after footy (more so), can you?

Nup cant blame him at all. He has a premiership and now will leave the game with a healthy bank account. WIN WIN WIN for him, GWS and Collingwood who get well compensated with Taylor Adams and pick 36.

Yep, everyone's a winner here...except for Geelong who missed out on both players.

Thats very true REB.

Hasnt been much talk re Geelong apart from these 2, and you have a few holes now with Corey, Chapman, Pods, Hunt etc leaving. Do you think you will just go with a 're build' of sorts and incorperate your talent from the past few/this drafts? or a few behind the scenes moves still happening for ready made players?

Geelong have bitten the bullet and are going to be prepared to play the younger players who have had two very good seasons of VFL football under their belt. Other guys like Mitch Brown have been around for awhile and haven't really caught on I expect the players to put their hands up to replace Hunt, Corey, Chapman and Pods will be George Horlin Smith, Bews' lad (forget his first name), George Burbury and Shane Kersten. Other blokes like Schroeder, Cowan, Brown, Stringer and Murdoch are also about the place.

Taylor Hunt was flying until he hurt his shoulder but he is no run with player so he might get a shot instead of Corey with GHS to be groomed as a run with player. None of these blokes are big names but they might come through as a group which worked pretty well for us last time. Even if they are only a third as good as their illustrious predecessors then we still win one more flag.
