Just heard that Shaun tait will be playing the rest of the year with his hometown nairne. After not being picked up in the recent ipl auction. To qualify for finals a player must have played 5 weeks of cricket. Both weeks that were heated out Nairne put his name on there team sheet, which was a smart move. I'm sure all opposition teams will be shitting themselves! Apparently he is only going to be bowling spin, but would be interesting in a tight final if that idea changes?

Not knowing how strong mt lofty are, I would be picking Woodside to get up. They have plenty of experience & a good all round team that should get the choccies.

Mt Lofty Redcaps batted first and made 121, Woodside rolled for about 70, Redcaps get their first A grade silverware for 25 years! :)

81 in the end for the Warriors. Only caught the final half hour of the match so cant comment too much. With their batting line up I would have backed Woodside to chase that down on their home field.

TVCA finals start this week. Final 4 was Gumeracha (157), Paracombe (143), Palmer (126) and Cambrai (107).

A late run from Mt Torrens saw them finish 3 pts out the 4. Eden Valley will rue narrow losses early in the season, Birdwood improved but couldn't find a win after round 5, while Lenswood were awful after xmas.

Gum should be too strong in the battle of the Magpies, while Paracombe and Palmer meet for the 3rd straight year at Paracombe in a semi. Paracombe have won the past 2 convincingly, think it'll be tighter this time.

*kicks aside tumbleweed*

TVCA Semis

Gumeracha 9/262 def Cambrai 155
Palmer 131 and 2/88 def Paracombe 122 and 2/91(dec).

The strength of Gum's batting was again on show, while Palmer's final pairing required 18 runs for victory as the Bears snuck home by 1 wicket.

Mt Pleasant/Springton to battle Gum in the B's, both teams having easy wins last week.

Gum far too strong for Palmer in the TVCA Grand Final. 9/199 to 83. Well deserved flag for the Magpies who have been around the mark for a few years now.

Mt Pleasant/Springton captured the B Grade flag in their first season back after a 3 or 4 year absence.

A&EHCA Semis are Strath V Lobethal at Strath and Nairne V Woodside at Nairne. My prediction is for Strath to win comfortably and for Woodside to be on the receiving end of an absolute shellacking. The Grand Final at Strath the following week will be a beauty.

Strath have defeated Lobethal on the first day of their semi final at Strath with Lobethal making 122 and Strath reaching the target with 8 wickets in hand.

Woodside will need to make 315 to topple Nairne who at one stage were 8/160 until Jarrad Tait smashed 117 from 60 balls 8)

Woodside were bowled out for 59 chasing Nairne's first innings total of 314. A shellacking as predicted.

Next weeks match at Strath should be a belter with the two stand out teams for the season doing battle. Whatever advantage Nairne have in talent is nullified by the Stallions familiarity of the larger ground and turf wickets at Strathalbyn Oval which they play to perfection.

This promises to be a fantastic cricket match and I would recommend you get down there if you are a fan of the game. This will be a beauty

Perfect day for cricket grand finals today good luck to all teams playing.
The strath v Nairne a grade gf scores will be updated throughout the day live on my cricket. Should be a cracker of a game. Both teams have a good deep list with the bat & ball. The battle of the abbotts v tait brothers will be crucial to decide who the winner will be. Let's hope strath can break nairnes five premierships in a row streak.
My tip for the a2s is Finniss to get over the line against calli at Finniss.

Strath bowled out for 100, wickets at regular intervals, the last 4 wickets for none, Nairne 3/60, 6 in a row for the Razorbacks is very much on the cards now.

Interesting to hear Jarred Tait's comments to a few blokes on the other side of the fence how he didn't rate Strathalbyn and Strathalbyn are a 7 man team as the last 4 batsman for Strath don't bowl and can't bat..

Disappointing from Strath yesterday, I think most would like to see them win but only a miracle can get them over the line from here. yesterday's play just highlights Nairne's dominance of this comp and their ability to play their best cricket when it counts. You have to give them credit for being such a strong and successful club.

I heard Meadows posted 200 odd for SCIBs to chase down. The Meadows boys are pretty confident by all accounts. Apparently the've "set a rabbit trap to catch the bunnies in the headlights". I guess we'll know by this afternoon if the trap was sprung or the bunnies avoided getting caught.

Nairne will propbly feel Heinripped off and even Harden done by. They'll just have to Tait for the rain to stop so they don't get Crooked by the weather. This game may just be in Gods-sons hands :D
