And bloody Chuck recruiting his Spud mate McDonald and then batting him at 3 is laughable, McDonald is a number 6 or 7 at best

How many catches did McDonald drop? It seems he was the one always merntioned on here as dropping catches

Not sure about 1st innings but he dropped 2 in the second innings.
Reckon we dropped atleast 6 for the game.
Ripper of a game from the gun recruit.
Wasnt he picked as a bowling allrounder for Australia?
Batted at 3 this game which is 3 or 4 spots too high and bowled a whopping 4 overs in the first dig coming on first change ahead of Richo and then didnt bowl in the 2nd dig.

Botha 8/121
That's a reason why he bowled himself at the end
Zampa 0/114

Mal, if you are Doug the Rug and happen to be one of the worst batters going around who would you rather take the new ball, Botha or Sayers?

Neither.. i'd give it to Richo.

But as i mentioned previously obviosuly the deck favoured the slower bowlers more - 18 wickets in the game went to finger spinners, so cant really fault the thinking so much.

Which means that we must win the next game/win on first innings and hope that the other games are draws or NSW/WA lose.

Nsw 6, WA 2 could mean we could win on first innings and still not make finals?

Sayers under most circumstances
In this game Sayers , with the newish ball
But I could understand the logic in bowling himself
He was the most threatening bowler for SA throughout this match, on a deck that spinners succeeded

How many times can he back himself to bowl us to victory, not succeed and not cop any flack?

Seriously we might as well go in with 3 or 4 bowlers if he is only going to bowl himself.

Why take the new ball then Mal?
We took the new ball and had 7 overs at them and we had the tail in. Back your quicks to do the job as they have all year

Think Botha has received a one game Suspension and can't play the last game against Tassie.

Major blow to Redbacks, as much as people bag him, he is our leading wicket taker for the season, plus often makes handy runs.

Will be interesting if they appeal, and also who they replace him with.

Is the season starting to go pear shaped??

Lost the un-losable to QLD, so close on both innings against NSW, now this!!

that sucks a bit, but it will help the balance of the team, as mcdonald will go down to 6, and head will come back in. and with hughes back at the top i am still confident

I think McDonald is under serious pressure to retain his spot in the side. Hughes to come back in and with Raphael starting to find his feet with 2 half centuries in the past 2 games and out scoring his opening partner in the partnership.

Trav Head has unfortunately lost form at the wrong time of year. Thanks very much Cricket Australia and your stupid Big Bash
