Anything to report, looks like a fairly even hit out for both sides

Short game time wise. South played every recruit. Did not play but are very chance: Cross, Liddle, Gotch, Caleb Daniel, Nathan Daniel, Redigolo, Brooksby, Ah Chee, Thewlis, McDonald, Giddings,Haines. Injured Taylor, Seccull and Rolfe.

From the game, South were competitive throughout and the coach was happy with the way it was played for the last three quarters. Adam Dale looks to be a good recruit with a very penetrating kick. Jake Veide played very well and his excellent fitness base should see him continue in his new found role of coming in off the square and using his endurance to get free.

Also, no Motlop or Krakouer for Port.

Sturt only mentioned in the score results on Adelaide now in the match report from today, which was posted in the SANFL section online.

The SANFL has nothing to do with SANFL clubs anymore. Sturt fans were lucky to have their score acknowledged. The best they can hope for are references like "lformer Sturt junior James Battersby" and "ex-Sturt midfielders Reilly and Kerridge ".

I kid you not, Crowey whilst calling the Puffs game made celebratory reference to the huge win by the Crows over 'the team they played against...who was it? It was Sturt wasn't it?'

Another class decision by the club boards.

Good to see what local coverage there was will now be eroded that little bit more.

It's the first sign of it being all over.

Yep agree wonder how long before the 6 boards that voted yes have that light bulb moment when the realise they f@cked up!!!!!

Look at Sturt today what did they get out of this:

1. A flogging by a professional AFL club

2. No media coverage (they are just their to make sure the Crows get a nice warm up for the AFL season!!!!)

3. Don't see how it helps Sturt signing members and might turn some off if they follow crows also.

Let's remember it also cost them more to field a team this year too...

Admittedly they rested heaps of players in the second half and the margin doubled in the final term, but definitely agree its not a good advert for the club.

Membership is down 1,500 or close to 40% I believe...

The club did say the crowd was great though... (clap clap)

It wasn't club boards that voted. It was wank3rs like Bohdan Jaworski who were the clubs delegates that had the final say. I doubt such wank3rs will give a f*ck as they sit back like the fat carnts they are.

Both Port & South were a bit sloppy as you'd expect being the first trial for the year.

For Port the standouts were Logan & Colquhuon who dominated through the middle. Shaw was a strong target up forward. From the non-AFL listed guys, Beimans was the best by far. A small, tough unit similar to Kulikowski. Sawford was great and Haran would have been BOG had he been left in the ruck for the whole game (moved to FB for the 2nd half).

Loved Darcy Hourigan for South. Looks to have trimmed down a bit and is super fit. Brett Eddy was a fine target up forward. Rose did well. Irra was in everything and looks set for a good year. Mckay played well. Frazer Dale is taller than I expected, though didn't have the best game imo.

Krak was at the ground with his son.

Think I read that Motlop wont be allowed to be listed by Port as there is a rule that back up players aren't allowed to have played AFL or state league football for 18 months prior.

Motlop will not be playing for Port[/quote]it might be true he is not playing. But the rule that you can't have played SANFL or AFL in the last 18 months can't be true can it or did nutter get an exemption.

Your own post on another thread said Sturt membership was over 2300 compared to just under 3000 last year? Isn't that only 700 down at this early stage and just 20% lower than last year?
