Soft month for the Crows coming up, they'll be 4-3 and Advertiser/ SA media will once again tout them contenders

Surely they will be 4-3. Who do you see beating them?

Saints only lost to the Eagles in Perth by a few goals, dont think the Saints will win but will be closer than most think. GWS are no push over anymore but the Cows should have their measure at home

I'm not confident at the minute that we have the measure of any of the next 3.

Perhaps the strength of the Eagles has been over estimated through their relatively soft draw to start the season? Also losing LeCras hurt their fire power, so not sure how much can be read into the result.

Crows should beat St Kilda, expect Dangerfield to find a return to golden form.

Would think the Crows should cover GWS despite their improvement, but I would think the Saints game is 50/50 at best, and the Dogs are looking much better than the Crows despite only being 1-2.

Can't believe Lobbe was fined $900 for an umpire **** up. he umpire should be fined for making contact with the player. The umpires are over protected, they are just people like the players.
The death penalty can never be excused as it allows a state a means by which it can pick and choose who is fit to live and who isnt

That maybe he case but the umpires do need to be protected to a degree.

The Saints are no push overs. I think the crows will win and they should win but it will not be easy.

Protected to a degree - yes, but the Lobbe incident was pathetic! Umpire throws up and backs straight into them, his own fault and an accident, where's common sense prevail and just say "play on" FFS!

yeah agree. surely the "contact with an umpire" rule is in place to stop the players using the umpire as some sort of screen to get rid of a tagger etc.

in instances where it is clear this wasnt happening, surely you just chalk it up to an accident.

Its a simple rule though and all players know the direction the unmpires will exit the contest. if they chose to stand there and make contact they run the risk of a penalty. Not saying it's right but its simple really... DONT F*KING STAND THERE

So what's the solution moving forward, because from memory the umpire was quick to the contest and the rucks had to come running from the centre to get to the contest, almost unavoidable.. go back to juniors and just pick two closest to the contest to ruck it!? :?

I noticed one of the players ran into Chelsea Roffey (sp?) on the weekend en route to kicking the ball in and wondered at the time if it would be ok to make contact with a goal umpire? Not sure if anyone was cited.

I'm curious if the commentators etc said nothing about the incident and carried on focussing on the actual game, would anyone really notice the knock and then in turn would the MRP actually take a course of action?
