Is roughhead in trouble again for abusing the umpire. Obviously depends on what he actually said but with his just coming back from report could carry over points get him again.

Are you serious?
You dont get games for abusing an umpire, he got a 50m penalty against him

That's their breaks for the rest of the year. (If my quick adding was correct)

Sounds like geelong folk trying to make excuses for finally losing a game

Well according to bullshit theories they might as well play their reserves the two games they have 6 day breaks unless the sports scientists and teams of analysts can solve the riddle of how to possible recover with only 144 hours between games.

It kind of reminds me of the year that everyone got a hard on for teams not being able to win the week after playing in Perth. HTFU!!!

Vanessa, Benny.

Three six day breaks in succession DOES take a toll on the energy levels of the players (although it's not unexpected of a Crows fan in particular to understand the nature of a tough draw seeing as they never seem to get one). Especially when the opposition is coming off the bye. I watch Geelong every week and I've never seen us cooked in the first five minutes of the game. It was obvious to anyone who really watches the game. We wouldn't have beaten Sydney off seven days break at the SCG without Lonnegan and Enright but there was no spread or defensive run from the Cats and we didn't suddenly become Richmond overnight.

I don't know about bullshit theories but I know it's considered an advantage to have a week off during the finals and they avoid scheduling six day breaks during and leading up to the finals wherever they can. Hmm, wonder why that is? If you want to keep your head in the sand you should be out there helping Hockey defend his budget instead of wasting time on this forum LOL.

regards,

REB

Obviously a longer break would provide some form of small advantage it's just we don't sook, bitch and make excuses like some of the Geelong faithfull have. I will stand by my statement it gets massively over analysed and if you could leave politics out of the football forum it would be appreciated.

Dangerfield was playing injured.

On another note can someone please explain why Chris mayne is a walk up start every week? 4 goals after 10 games...pretty poor season from their second key fwd.

Like I said depends on what he said. Umpire was pretty quick to call the 50 though, most of them give them a warning first. My thought if it's really bad abuse a reprimand below that 50mtr would do. Just thinking after coming off a suspension he will have carry over points so it might be a issue.

Well maybe he should get his injury right because atm you be pretty annoyed having money on him for the brownlow. To me it seems more like he has become another Lindsay Thomas, every time he stuffs up and gets a tap he goes down like he is injured.

The umpire would have to report him on the spot if he felt the abuse was bad enough. If reported then yes he could technically get a reprimand and if the carry over points were enough a suspension could arise.
As he wasnt reported its all hypothetical

Nearly 50000 for a shitty rainy early Sunday fixture at AO today.

Was surprised by that figure as there seemed to be quite a few empty seats on TV. The commentators estimated high 30s.

Anyway, was quite a good game to watch.

the commentators said if they get more than 37k then it will be the biggest crowd that gold coast has ever played in front of. and they said they should easily get that. they did say there was a few empty seats though, but it looked pretty full on TV at least.

yeah i thought it was a pretty good game of footy, skills were much better by the crows

About 5-6 weeks ago I posted how the Eagles are flat track bullies and would miss the 8, a couple of posters ridiculed me at the time but I reckon they may be changing their tune by now.
Eagles still havnt beaten a top 8 side, their list is massively overated and their skills are terrible.
Getting smashed by North today at home, even the home town support and umpiring cant get them over the line anymore. Dont think teams fear going West anymore.
Can not see this lot playing finals this year
