Gotta say its a piss poor crowd for a Saturday and the final day of the series with a result likely.

Looks can be deceiving but looks like only a few thousand. Should build up I guess but the crowds have looked down for this test.

Yep no longer the 2nd most attended test, Adelaide has that mantle clearly now.
This year both Tests started on a Tuesday so its apples with apples no doubt. If anything Sydney had an advantage with it being school holidays.

Standard crowd for Sydney.

Precisely, and the sad thing is Sydney have stadiums coming out of their arses and hardly anyone turns up. Incredibly, 2 stadiums right next to each other at Homebush and the same with the SCG and the Football stadium side by side.

With so many tests even in Aus coming down to spinners having to bowl the side to victory on day 5 is it worth bring back the specialist bat pad fielder.

It seems to just get handed to the newest member of the side, it seems to be such a vital position these days that it like every other aspect of the game should require one of the players to be trained to specialise in this position

Its funny, when Burns put one down the other day it got me thinking about Booney. My recollection was that when he first started playing for AUS, not only was he overweight, but he was a terrible fielder (Greg Richie was identical in both aspects) and his batting was average. Thought Booney would forever be a liability, but with experience/maturity his batting blossomed and whoever decided to place him at Bat Pad (Bobby Simpson maybe) used a stroke of genius.

Watched a few minutes of the cricket show and had to turn it over.

Shane is Australia's if not the worlds greatest spinner and he is alright in the comm box but listening to Shane talk about Shane, Shane views, Shane's comments, Shane's Pizza and his decorative re-memories of the past tends to give me the shits. I miss the old lad Warny. This bow toxed, teeth Bleecher, fat suctioned cosmetic Shane is somewhat of a tosser.
