Round 10 - Central v North @ Playford Alive Oval (Sat 20/6)

Postby Big Phil » Tue Jun 16, 2015 9:03 am

The Doggies are coming off a weeks' break and will be disappointed still at their loss to Port Magpies a fortnight ago...

The Roosters are languishing in bottom place and have a year to forget under 2nd year coach Ken McGregor...

Both sides will be desperate to get the points so this should be an intriuging contest...

Unfortunately McGregor couldn't hang on. Hate this type of match after the sacking of a coach.

I would highly doubt that if Roy Laird is not coaching at Central next year, he would not be coaching any football, at all...

Has a very busy Real Estate business, a young family and would want to spend time on those elements of his life, I would think...

At the start of the year these 2 sides would have been finals contenders. What's happened ? Centrals at home by 24 points.

I thought he never signed contracts and only made handshake agreements?

Yes, that's right. 5 pumps, one for each year. That's how tight the relationship is up there. ;)
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail

That's certainly my understanding.

Has that changed Centurion?

( From a 2011 article )

Laird, who only ever signs one-year contracts with Central but said he wants to continue next year, did not rule out being an AFL assistant down the track, although he said he has "no interest" at this stage.
PAFC. Forever.

North maybe but Centrals?
Always thought the Dogs would be closer to the bottom this year, think they could slide further in the next few years without some solid recruiting as there isnt much depth in the club across the grades

A revived Roosters where all the team want to play will be too good for Centrals
North by 15-20 points

Would love Riy to stay. 5 years is a hell of a commitment.

Team is looking settled but our Ruck is the outstanding weakness. We need to address those centre set ups and realise that North will dominate the hit outs.

Roy sounding confident. I will tip us at home by 24 pts.
