Rnd 19- South v Centrals @ Noarlunga on Saturday

Postby saintal » Wed Aug 26, 2015 7:43 pm

The battle for 5th spot comes down to the final match of the home and away season. The "integrity cup" is also on the line. 8)

Doggies undefeated at Noarlunga since 2006. Both teams weakened with some injuries.

Thoughts?

Question for Scott..how many weeks have South spent outside the top 5 this season? Just one after round 2?
SAFC- 60 years...
StKFC- 58 years..

Im really hoping the Dogs win.

Personally i think the end of the SANFL is coming closer so wouldnt mind seeing the Doggies play as many finals as possible before it does happen.

Wont be there though as i will be watching my rugbys teams finals but will have the radio on.

South 1-39 to book their place in the finals. I think most supporters of other teams would be hoping South gets chance at back to back finals.

Will be devastated if we lose this. Us Southee's have not seen finals much in our life times.

Think we have played some decent and competitive footy this year. Injuries could cost us in the end.

Brad Gotch to work his magic and get the boys fired up. South by 3 goals.

Absolutely. Finals without Centrals are also much more enjoyable.

South will be nervous as buggery and Centrals will fired up at the chance of getting into the 5
Should be a close game but I'm going for a South victory by 5-10 points

Let's hope we play better than last season when we had a finals spot on the line.
The last match between these sides was a draw.
Am assuming Retzlaff will be out, while a loss could signal Thommo's last game.
Could it also be 'Alfie' Jenner's last game?
I think we can win, but do we believe we can? Self-belief is a key for Centrals if we are to rise up the table again.
A win by five points.

Alright, I'll play. :D

If South get up this week, then the chance of them going on to do what only one SANFL club has ever done, win the flag from fifth spot, is something I'm sure most SANFL followers wouldn't begrudge them - if not cheer on to the end, short of their own sides winning the flag.

If nothing else, reinforcing the notion that faith has its rewards - and there are few more faithful in second tier footy in this country than the long suffering Southies.

That not being the case, if only one good thing comes out of a South win this weekend, it will be the possibility of watching them do to the Power reserves, at some stage of the finals, what they failed to do in the Prelim last year. I'm sure that's something that would give an overwhelming majority of supporters of real SANFL clubs a warm glow in their hearts.

Retzlaff out and big Dallas Hill in. Would be a nice game for him to live up to his potential.
Last time Centrals and South met in Round 6 (May 9) it was a tie and we meet at the end of the season for a place in the 5. Not really a great difference between the sides, but Souths injury list is not good, and with the exception of Retzy, Centrals has not had a bad run.

Milera with 5 last week was a revelation, and if Hill can fire I can see Centrals getting up.
