T20 World Cup

Postby whufc » Fri Jan 08, 2016 7:47 pm

Yes its hit and giggle, yes it i would rather win the Ashes or beat the saffies in a test series, yes it better than watching home and away, yet Australia are in so i hope they win it.

With the BBL being on now i imagine alot of these performances will decide the squad to go over there.

What is your squad of say 15 based on every single person is fit and the WC is in India.

Mine is below probably missing some obvious ones and there will also be some unlucky ones such as Klinger, Head and Richardson.

1. Dave Warner
2. Aaron Finch
3. Shaun Marsh (not sure what his record in India is like)
4. Steve Smith
5. Chris Lynn
6. Glen Maxwell
7. Brad Haddin
8. James Faulkner
9. Ashton Agar
10. Mitchell Starc
11. Ben Laughin

12. Alex Ross
13. Michael Hussey / Cameron White
14. Xavier Doherty
15. Josh Hazelwood

Tend to agree but i haven't seen enough of the big bash to judge any of the other keepers or more their batting because that's what it will be selected on.

I don't see enough of the BBL to pass judgement but would think Watson is still in the mix. Conditions in India suit him

Outstanding I think, I remember him dominating in the IPL 1-2 seasons.

Just checked Shaun Marsh was the IPL's leading run scorer in 2008 and 4th highest run scorer in 2011.

I made my squad the other night actually. Found it really hard to trim my squad down to 15

First XI-

Warner
Finch
Smith
Lynn
Maxwell
Faulkner
Wade
Starc
Richardson
Lyon
Laughlin

Shaun Marsh over Michael Hussey (Both can open or bat middle order, Marsh in better form.)
Bailey/Agar (Hard to separate do you take the second extra batsman or a spinning allrounder?)
Hogg over Boyce
Hastings (Would of had Cummins in my squad if fit)

Also considered Head, Ross, Dan Christian and Cam White.

Reckon you wont be far off DK, dont think Faulkner will make it, has been ordinary this big bash, maybe he will turn it around during the ODI's and book his ticket. I like Agar in the squad, extra spin and bat for indian conditions.
Get the feeling Ross may go, his penchant for sweeping everything and sweeping well may see selectors give him a chance in India

Tye from scorchers also a chance instead of Richo

Faulkner- will go regardless of dog shit form such is the love affair with him.
Haddin- Surely can't go! Wade ahead of him I reckon and rightly so
Hussey, Hogg and Tait- some talk of these 3 I'd be very surprised
Hastings- Is shit
Berandorf- How hasn't any mentioned this guy? I rate him the best T20 bowler with Laughlin this season.
Lynn is a must
Lyon- I think has deserved his spot.
Bailey- Would be stiff to miss out.

Trouble is you can't take them all!

Yes I feel Faulkner will do exactly that, get himself in good nick in the ODIs. Had a pretty shit BBL but a far too talented all round cricketer not be in the squad.

I feel Ross has too many better top order batsman in front of him unfortunately. If he gets picked I'll be stoked.

I think Tye is the same sort of bowler than Laughlin, right arm smorgasbord, mixes it up alot. Laughlin edges just in front of him IMO.

I forgot about Lyon in my squad he has to go!!!

I love Behrendorf just reckon his injuries and amount of cricket he has missed may just means he misses out especially since he can't impress in the odi

Be interesting to see how NZ go

See they have just scored 1/147 off 10 overs to win again

Guptill 63 off 25 balls 5 x 6 6 x 4

Munro 50 off 14 balls including 7 x 6 and 1 x 4

Think the grounds in India may just curb them slightly
You cant change your past but you can sure hell shape you future

Bored at work 'TDK' so here goes

1. David Warner
2. Shaun Marsh (even though Greg Blewett only just missed)
3. Shaun Smith
4. George Bailey
5. Glenn Spudwell
6. James Faulkner
7. Matt Wade
8. Mitch Starc
9. Nathan Lyon
10. Jason Bernendorf
11. Ben Laughlin

12. Josh Hazelwood
13. Aaron Finch
14. and 15. (2 spots fought out between Travis Head, Chris Lynn and Alex Ross)

On form (Which Aussie selectors never look at Faulkner, Finch and Starc (inj) simply can not be selected but will) and Head, Berendorf, Laughlin, Lynn and Ross must be in but I reckon only 1 maybe 2 will make it.

Watson, Haddin and Hastings are shit
Hussey and Hogg would need De-Fibs located at Square leg
Tait- I cant see them going that way

Don't think I've missed anyone happy to pot them should anyone suggest anyone else lol ;) :D

Does taking the mark of the century in the goal square translate to T20? :)

Hahahahahaha, if you're going to be a selector you have to at least know the players names! Especially our Captain lol.

Carey, Aaron Finch is currently third in the runs for this Big Bash so it's not like he's in bad form.

I picked Hastings as my extra quick bowler but any one of Behrendorff, Tye and Boland would be considered chances to make the squad. I hope they pick Behrendorff.

They have to take at least 2 genuine spinners.
