The Eagles were 0-4 or maybe even 0-5 in 2012. I think North might have been about 0-5 in 1988 after losing a few key players.

Glenelg went from top to bottom in 1935.

North were 3 wins and 2 losses after 5 games in 1988.

It was 1992 where North were 0 and 5. The big difference with West this year was that North's losing margins were 10 points, one point, one point, 20 points and 24 points. North won6 of their next 7 and finished in the top 3 at the end of the minor round before bombing out in straight sets.

Glenelg in 1935 went from top to bottom and lost their first five games before winning the sixth by 6 points. It was their only win for the year.

So many players injured after Christmas, poor recruiting and behind the scenes people's head so big that new doorways have needed to be built in the club. Will get on track, and I have said it from pre season, after about round 6 we will come good. Only a couple of games out of the five.


Must say recruiting was difficult when we didn't know how many players would be drafted, a lot of the better players available had signed or were way down the track of signing

The hardest thing for me to believe isn't that Glenelg won the flag in 1934, but more that they won it against Port and not my mob.

Between 1927 and 1935 must have been a good time be a SANFL follower, every team won a flag.

Which shows how difficult it is to back it up in todays era. Really makes the recent dynasties of Centrals and Norwood quite remarkable.

This is also one of those seasons where anyone can beat anyone on their day.
